As shared/answered in your previous thread: http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/mov...

Double click on the folder in your file manager to open it just as you do your folders on your PC. The paste option (when you have the new folder open) only appears when you have a valid image/file already copied to your clipboard from the originating folder. If you do not have an image/file copied the "paste" option will not appear.

What country are you editing your site from as there are often differences from location to location as Yola uses multiple servers for their builder? Knowing this might help Yola troubleshoot should there be an issue that they need to fix. As I am not having issues in Redmond Washington on multiple accounts and many different websites I don't believe it to be a US related problem.

If you share your site's URL a Yola rep can log-in to see if there is some other issue which is causing it.

Which browser are you using and if not have you logged in using Firefox the preferred browser?

Have you updated your flash lately?

I am using the current Firefox and flash is the latest version, I am in the UK, moving my pictures is not the only problem I am having, when saving I have problems, some times the page just hangs and have to restart yola, today I am pulling my hair out as I am having to save the same pages time and time again, and as I am a silver member I expect a service that I can use, thinking of going to use another hosting company.

I once had a similar issue arise over 3+ years ago and like you was at my wits end trying to figure it out. Turns out a few days later while scanning my computer for viruses, Trojans and spyware found a nasty bugger that was logging all my activities and recording them which of course caused my computer to act oddly. It often froze my browser at the most inopportune moments and it would make me have to reload. Building my sites was to say the least an impossibility as it would take forever to do the simplest of tasks. In the end it was a non Yola related issue.

Bear this in mind, if this was a regional issue there would be literally hundreds/thousands of UK based Yola users inundating the forums with their concerns so this leads me to believe that it could very well be localized to either a few members or quite possibly to your computer.

Could you try shutting down your computer and restarting it to then try to edit your site again? This is often the easiest solutions when all others have failed. Additionally and if that fails, try to edit your site using another browser. Chrome would be my secondary after FF and over IE.

Yola will still need your website URL to verify any issues on their end...

Tried all browsers and changed over computer, both computers have been deep scanned for viruses and spyware this morning, but still have the same problem, my url = http://the-bargain-shop.co.uk hosted with yola silver member, my internet speed is good every thing is up to date, but as the folders I have created are located on the yola servers I believe this is a problem that end as I do not have any other problems with sites with other hosts.

@sales you are not the only one to see this (sorry mate) and @yola there might be a bug hiding below the surface that you are unaware of.

Okay I think that I am closer to figuring out this one but sadly cannot go any further as it may be in Yolas code.

A few hours ago I logged into my main account (with FF 7) which happens to be a silver account and when I attempted to open a folder could not. I could create a new folder but when double clicking on it was left with the same outcome of not being able to open it. Figuring that it might be a browser related issue I opened the site builder in Chrome to the same effect. It was when using the totally unreliable IE that I was then able to open a folder and upload a new image or paste from another folder in my file manager. (Who knew that IE would save the day? LOL)

FF 7= Unable to open folders and able to publish website
Chrome= Unable to open folders and able to publish website
IE= Able to open folders but unable to publish website

Taking a nap I hoped to wake up and find the problem resolved or no longer present but when I awoke and reattempted in all three browsers I had the same outcome as above.

I think that it is a Yola Silver related issue as when I log into my alternate accounts which happen to both be a free yola account I am able to open any folder in any website but when I log into my silver account I am unable to open any folder in any website.

Yola free= works
Yola silver= not so much

If Yola could attempt to replicate this in one of their silver accounts they might very well see what it is that both sales and I are seeing.

I will try to revert back to a previous version of FF later to see if that might solve it...

Images stored in the Filemanager have now disappeared from view. The titles remain and some have moved outside of their folders. They aren't showing in the page of the site-builder as they were assigned. This has been a lot of work to get them this far and I have repeated it once already.

Please tell us if there is something going on and if in fact we should stop building for the time being. It's very frustrating having to repeat many hours of work and still not be sure of a stable outcome.

Hi Everyone

Thank you for your input on this thread, especially Ed who has done quite a bit of troubleshooting. We have also tested different scenarios and have been able to replicate on some sites. It seems that it is an intermittent bug on Yola, as it is not consistent between web browsers and account types we have tested on.

Our engineers have been notified and we hope to have this problem resolved as soon as possible.

Apologies for the inconvenience to all of you experiencing this bug. Please continue to add comments to this thread if you notice any changes.

While I always appreciate a good pat on the back... ;) if it had not been for Sales initial distress I never would have began my quest.

What a time to try to update your site for the holiday... Using FF and IE to get her done though so we will see how that goes. It always could be worse. We could be using Weebly or Webs. ;)

Nazlie can you inform me when this bug is fixed, or how long it may take, I also believe that some of yola's other members that are having trouble saving listings through the paypal widget is connected to this problem, reason I say this is because that I only found out about this bug was when saving listings in the paypal cart widget, when saving the work I had done either would not save and freeze and would have to restart Yola completely or it would save but when going back to relist more that the work I had previously done had vanished, and when redoing the same listings again would be told there was a previous version of the page I was trying to save but was not showing in the site builder or the paypal cart widget, this is when I decided to make the folders to save different product images as I thought I could of been uploading to many images in to the main file manager. Hope this has helps your engineers.
P.S thank you for the fast response and thanks to Ed-a-Torials for taking the time to help on this matter, Yola would be a good system if not for the bugs and I am sure that when these little problems are solved this will be a valuable site for new people wishing to start a website. Keep up the good work and customer support is pretty good.

Hello Sales,

Please let us know which pages you're not able to access? Do you mind if we go into your Sitebuilder to see how this functions for us?

you may go into the site builder if needed but for the last four hours things have been ok only a few times I have had to exit yola, I just wondering if it could just be the amount of people using the site, making it hang but when it does hang it is so frustrating, but it looks like if I need to do the amount of updating I need to, it is best done through the night (UK night ) like I have done this night to catch up,. but would realy like to get the folders in the file manager opening so I can sort my product photos out.

Hi Sales

We are still working on the File Manager issue and I do not have an update for you on that one.

With regards to the pages loading, our engineers are investigating whether there is a problem on our systems.

We will let you know when we have more information.

Hello sales,

It does take a bit of time for the engineers to resolve. Thank you for your patience as they try to debug this. You can try using a different browser to see if that helps with the File Manager issue.

Hello,

Just touching base to let you know that our engineers have added a right click 'open folder' option as a work-around for those of you who have too many files, which in turn, block the double click option.

This being said, you should be able to use this new workaround just fine to access your files!
