I am wanting to find a way of adding a form to my website where when they submit it they agree to terms and conditions by submitting and pdf documents automatically get sent to them when they submit the form. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi,

You can effectively do this by adding a link on your acknowledgment page. This link would then allow respondents to download your pdf files.

A preferable way would be to add the link to an auto-responder such as that offered by JotForm which also offers an agreement for terms and conditions before accepting the submission.

I really just need a form that will automatically send the PDFs to their email. I can put a text box at the bottom of the form saying by submitting they agree to the trends and conditions. Is there a firm that will let me add PDFs that only get sent when they submit the form. Can't see this option in jotform

Hi Amanda,

You've raised an interesting question, and I can see how that would make a useful addition to our software. However, both the Yola and Wufoo form widgets, available in the Yola sitebuilder, are not designed to send an email with a file attachment. As a workaround however, what you could do, is use the Wufoo form widget, then include a link to down load the file in the customised message. Adding the download link in the confirmation message is convenient because it’s available to the user immediately.

Hi Amanda,

You can do this with the standard Yola form! Firstly you will need add the PDF document to a hidden page on your site. Next you will want your form to redirect to this page after it is submitted. You can do this by adding a bit of HTML code. Here's how:

  1. Open your Form by clicking on the little "edit button" in the upper left hand corner of the widget.
  2. Click on the "Settings" tab.
  3. In the field available you will see the text your visitor will see when they submit the form. You can paste this code below the text which will cause the form to redirect:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5; url=http://www.yoursite.com/yourpage.php">

"5" is how many seconds it waits before it redirects - you can change this number. "url" is the URL it redirects to - so replace the URL above with the one for the page you want to link to.

You may even be able to redirect to the file directly in your file manager but I haven't tried this myself. You could try the following:

The path to your file would be: http://www.yoursite.com/resources/folder/file.pdf

Where:

"http://www.yoursite.com" - is your site's address.
"resources" - is the name of the File Manager (you must not change this).
"folder" - if your file is in a folder, include the folder name.
"file.pdf" - is the name of your file.

Hope that helps. Good luck!
