Formatting Issues using Yola

I really like using Yola for it's easy of use but I am not happy with how it formats text. What looks good in edit mode looks horrible in preview mode and the way the formatting works by spacing to the next line instead of shifting is really a pain. Also; what looks good in one browser does not look the same in another. My question is what is the best browser to use when editing my Yola site? I use both Safari and Firefox. When I edit in Firefox; preview and post my site it looks good but when I go to my site in Safari; the formatting is totally messed up and requires editing. What is the best solution? Thank you.

Hello Marvin,

Thanks for your message. Firefox is certainly our preferred browser. It is very common that your site will appear a tiny bit different from browser to browser, however, it should not appear extremely different.

Please share your site URL with us so we can take a peek at your site and test the differences on our end.

Hello Marvin,
Thanks for sharing your URL. I see that you are using an iframe for your site so we are not really able to look at the code behind the pages. I think that ottox232 has given some really great advice below and I hope it will help. Also, one thing you want to check out is have you possibly copy and pasted onto your site from a program such as Microsoft Word, that can cause display issues.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hi Marvin,
I like your question, so thought I'd chime in. It's a relevant topic because no one browser holds a majority share of internet viewership, according to these statistics. That doesn't count the growing use of smartphone browsing, which has even more variety.

On the bright side, there is no shortage of advice. I just googled, "how to format pages for different browsers" and found plenty of good links for developers at all experience levels. What is nice about your site is its simplicity, which should make it easy to adapt to a variety of browsers.

Regards,
-Nate

Hi, thank you very much for your comments. They are much appreciated but I am still having issues formatting text. What should take seconds to format is now taking minutes to an hour just trying to get the text to line up correctly. In edit mode it looks ok but in preview it's still HORRIBLE!!! I have wasted more time than I wanted to just to make the text look like it should. Yola is a great program but when it comes to editing it is the worse. I have used the Yola editor and that does not help. I retyped the text... no luck and used a new text box and that still does not help.
Spacing all the way to the end to go to the next line is insane. Why can't you just hit return and go the the next line instead of going down two lines. And then when you hit return your formatting is totally gone.

LIke I said Yola is a great program but the editing feature clearly needs to be fixed. Thank you.

OK... I fixed the issue. I just spaced down (which made it go down 2 lines) and double spaced my bullet points instead of trying to single space them and fixed the reformatting. Did a preview and it looked good. I also checked to see how it looked in Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome. Have not tried IE because I'm using a Mac but it's important to make sure your site looks good on all browsers because when promoting your site you don't know which browsers clients/customers are using. First impressions always makes the difference.
