It's 7.15 p.m. in the UK. I am trying to format a text box on one of my sites - just changing the font and the size and colour - none of the changes I apply after selecting the text makes any difference. Any ideas please? Thanks, David

It is a known bug which Yola is fixing...

What you have to do is select only the text - if there is a space after the last letter of the paragraph just dont select that... should work.

I think they will have it fixed soon.

Hello David,
This is currently a bug we are working on fixing. Here is how it works:

If you add text to your page and select only the text (don't select any spaces before or after the text), you will be able to format the text using the text toolbar.

If you add text to your page and select all the text (using 'select-all') or sweep the text with your cursor and include a space at the end of the text, you will find that you are unable to format the text using the text toolbar.

Please give this workaround a try and let us know if you are still having trouble.

Thankyou Emmy. My own workaround has been to copy some text from another page of mine which has the font, size and colour I need, pasting it into the text box and then altering the words. David

Hi David,
Cool! I need to tell you that it isn't safe to copy and paste text between your pages, this could cause some formatting problems. Can you make sure to copy and paste any text you are going to use (from another page or from a program such as MS Word) into a program such as Notepad. This will strip out any extra formatting that might break your page.

Thanks,
Emmy

I think you'll find Emmy that when you're backed into a corner and jobs must be done, then needs must and any port in a storm! Yes, of course, it will be a lot nicer when all the problems are ironed out, but in the meantime we do what we can.

Hi David,
I was just giving you the information about copying and pasting into Notepad and then to your site because it will keep your page from breaking in the future. I did forget to put that you can copy the text from Notepad then into the Text Widget. Sorry... hope you did not misunderstand me.

Thankyou Emmy, my actions were informed by lack of time and expediency!
