We don't have our own forum feature yet. However, if you search for free forum, or free message board you should be able to find one you like. Copy the embed code and paste it into the HTML widget in SynthaSite and your forum will be embedded in your page.

You can also get a mini forum from Widget Box (in our "widgets" folder). Here is the direct link: http://www.widgetbox.com/search?q=forum

OK, I'm not too computer savvy. I am just starting here since MSN groups is closing. I am starting a forum at Windows live but don't know where to find an "embed code" Can somebody point a newbie in the right direction?

Most forums will say something like "get code" or "add to webpage" - this is the code that you need to copy to place it on your site.

Please let us know if you need more help with this.

Hello,

If you all ready have your forum code here is how you can embed it into your Synthasite.

1. Drag and drop an HTML widget from the sidebar onto your page.
2. Paste the code into the HTML editor that opens.
3. Click on ok and your forum will be added to your page.

Hope this is helpful. If your need more assistance with this please let me know.

Kind Regards,

Emmy

Sorry, I'm not being clear. I have started a site here and I'm also making a group at windows live. i know nothing about HTML. I understand that the 'widgets' make it easier, but I don't know how to do it. I think I have to add some widget code & put my forum code in it somehow. I don't know where to get either code.

Hi Nimue818 - we don't have a forum widget, but it's quite easy to set one up. Check out this post: http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite.... It's a cool forum service from nabble.com. Let us know if you need any other help.

Hi Nimue818 - I answered your last question and neglected to see your earlier post about Windows Live, I apologise! Do you have a link to their service - I'm not sure which one it is and I'd like to make sure before finding out more information.

Just checking in to see if there's an answer yet. I don't want to seem impatient, just keeping the thread current. :)

Hi Nimue818 - I'm sorry I haven't come back to you.

I have been checking it out and I don't see a way that it's possible. If it were a possibility you would be able to see some kind of instruction to 'embed in your site' or something similar.

An alternative is to have a link on your page to your group. Or you can add an automatic redirect on your page so that it redirects to the URL after a few seconds. You can find more information on this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite...

I'm sorry I can't be of more help!

No apology necessary. Thanks for trying. I chose Windows Live because the message boxes were the most like MSN Groups & I wouldn't have to do much HTML. Not sure what I'll do now. I'll check out the "redirecting" Thanks again
