OK, first go to Programs4you.yolasite.com and go to Programs we have made. Then click Anyconverter. You need winrar for this. OK, now Extract it to desktop. Double click on it. Then click the button that says Open. After, Click the drop-down box and look for .swf. Click it. Finally click Convert. Wait a minute. It will be done and it will be in the folder the old one was on. Now go to your site.Go to the File uploader and upload the new video. Then, drag the HTML button on the sidebar and put it where you want the video. Then on the HTML insert thing that comes up, Copy and paste this. And Where it says PUT NAME OF VID HERE.swf twice, Type the name of the file you uploaded.

Done!

Hi esabarros

Just a tip for future code postings, if you wrap the code in <!-- and --> it will display. Like this:

<!--

Code here

-->

Thanks for sharing this! This is great! Much easier than adding a YouTube video.

I'm sure lots of people in the Yola community will find this useful.

If you have a Mac, you need RAR (Mac) to open .rar files.

Thanks again for sharing!

Sincerely,
Nathan

Hi Guys

Found your info on the code to put .swf files onto our website great but I've played around enough with the code and it's time to get more help. Clip comes on automatically and loops. Any ideas on getting controls and no autoplay/looping? I did trim original movies on Quicktime/Stone Leopard - then converted as instructed above, re organised my sizes and I was off and running .....and running! I also want to put more than one little golf instruction video on certain pages and everything going at once might be a touch confusing!

I use Streamclip to convert/trim downloads usually and it might be the new S L Quicktime at fault, but I could save to another format once I have movies at the length I want. Advice from either or both of you very welcome.

Hi Sanja
My site URL is http://brunstonmembers.yolasite.com

The code used

I have played around with &autoplay=1" and so on till I lost track! I have more little Stickies than Applications!
I have linked the instruction videos to my own macace.net webspace but it is a bit ugly as a compromise.
I hope you like our site; the response from members is very positive!
Thanks for the offer of help!

Hello Marian,

It's great to hear that you're getting close to the end results! I am not able to see your code. Can you please try this:

<!-- add your code in here -->

This will stop the code from being interpreted on the forum.

Thanks!

Hi Sanja
I think this is the code I have finished with! Had more variations in assorted colours than in a large chocolate box!

Hello Marian,

Thanks for posting the code. Just so that I'm clear, can you please confirm that you are wanting to add a control bar and have your swf autoplay?

I'll try my best to see if I can come up with something!

Hi Sanja

You are probably too young to remember the wonderful Hypercard program and Mac Classics, but I used to make History stuff for school and could time the intro - music or Clint Eastwood's famous 'do you feel lucky?' for tests. Timing an auto play would do, but having the option to just play or replay was my aim. I could get an .flv player with controls and so on but my movie would not play and I had - as we say in Scotland - got myself into a real fankle [mess!] and thought stop and start again another day. So I might reconvert the movie - thought I had[!] to an .flv again, but words like help and G & T came to mind.

Hope this helps before MacBook goes through [unopened] window!

Hello Marian,

I think your best bet is to convert to an flv and use a FLV player as these will come with a control bar. You may wan to consider looking at flowplayer as one possible solution.

Hi Sanja

Almost 100% success now with .flv player and files; ok the movies play on page opening but can be replayed on demand. Has few bad moments when found not working on Firefox and Opera but got those on track too. Haven't a clue about Chrome and IE. Stopped caring for the moment; will tackle when feeling stronger! Thanks for advice and friendly shoulder.

Time for a nice Malt to celebrate. Slainthe!
