Free button making software and "mouseover button" tutorial

I have updated my site and now have a nice tutorial
on how to implement mouseover buttons.
I've tried to make it as easy to follow as possible.
Hope I've achieved this.

There is also a nice easy to use program I found that helps you create
3D mouseover buttons and normal buttons with ease.

You can change the graphic parameters of buttons such as 3D shape,
lighting, texture, material, shadow and deformation.
The package is free and I have placed a link on my site.

Go check it out and let me know what you think.

How can I customize a mouseover? For anyone that has a netflix account, its a perfect example. When you hover over a movie, a nice box pulls up. Right now, I'm using the title attribute, which is just a basic description.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Customizing mouseover.

Not exactly a good topic to be merged too. I remember reading this topic 3 years ago. I know how to use the image replace on mouseover.

I'm looking for something like...

notice how when the mouse hovers over the image, a box pops up? I want the same effect, but mainly for plain links.

of course I would modify the mouseover to my preference, this was just an example. And yes, I would like it to be interactive. Whereas I use the title attribute (a plain description that goes away when your mouse isn't over the link or image anymore), I would like them to be able to interact with the mouseover, such as the rating or instant queue you see above, there's also links (the red text) within the mouseover box. Stuff like that. It does not have to be compatible with Yola, as I work with Yola and other hosts as well.

Hey Donald, long time :-)

Take a look at one of the "light box" , "fancy box", "whatever box" type modal popups (JQuery). Make it popup an iframe of an existing page of your website. You can create any page you like to display within the popup. Use the OnMouseover function on your link to "fire" it. Here's an example of one I created myself.

ok, that's pretty cool, is there a way to do it on mouseover (rather than click)? since most of my links I'm hoping to have a mouseover will serve as a link going to another page. Would kind of defeat the purpose if they have to click to see the popup... I guess. If it's not possible or you don't know how, I guess there's particular situations I could use what you did and I would like to be able to. :)

it needs to be easy. If I was to create the way web design works, this is what I would do...

<!--

<a href="link.com" onmouseover="this-page.php">My Link</a>

-->

lol, easy, isn't it? lol
