Hi zman,

When you buy a domain name from Yola we provide you with full DNS management, which includes the ability to set up email addresses linked to your domain. There is no charge for this, but you do need to select your own email service provider. You can do this with the email service of your choice. We recommend Google Apps as a really easy to use option and you can have up to 50 email addresses with a free account!

We have a tutorial explaining the steps to setting up your email address with Google Apps or Windows Live, please click on this link: Creating email addresses with your domain bought from Yola.

Domains that have been transferred to Yola don't yet have access to the Advanced Domain Settings and we will need to make any changes on your behalf. This is something that we still need to fix on our side.

In the meantime, you can get started on the tutorial and send us the related codes (CNAME if you want to use Google Apps, MX Record if you want to use Windows Live, or any other service) and we will make the change to your domain for you. Please mail to: support@yola.com.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

A little twist on that, Laura, if you could help me out. I have a GoDaddy domain name that was hosted elsewhere. I just assigned it to my Yola site. It seems to be working fine.

The Google Apps email is the problem. I had verified previously but not with Yola as host. How do I re-verify a domain for Google apps? Or is this question better asked of Google?

Thanks

Hi there Margie,
You would only need to change your email settings if you transferred your domain. If you have just pointed your A records to us then you shouldn't need to change anything.

I hope this helps.
