You can get it at http://www.nabble.com , but make sure you get the newer version at http://n2.nabble.com
I recently completed my forum. It’s really cool. You can see it at: http://webmasteruniversity.co.cc/supp...
Nabble gives you a selection of about 5 or 6 templates so you can find the one that best fits your site. It fits any width, and it is all in an iframe so everything is done on one page. Just copy and paste the code on your site and you can edit the forum straight from your published page. It is not phpbb by the way.
Very important, nabble does not require you to have an account to access the code. But if you want to claim the forum as your own (be the admin) then you definitely should do it. I suggest you do it. Make sure you place the code on your site after you register as the admin.
Tell me what you think.

First, you need to know some vocabulary (pertaining to web forums):
1. forum- a collection of discussions arranged in an organized fashion, consisting of categories, sub-forums, topics and replies.
2. category- a title given to a group of sub-forums. They are used to organize the sub-forums. Example: using my forum as a reference, “About Webmaster University”, “Webmaster Lounge” and “Ask The Editor” are all Categories.
3. sub forum- the sub-forum is were the actual discussions take place. They are were you can find the topics that people have posted. Example, using my forum as a reference, under the category “About Webmaster University” you will find the Sub-Forums: “Announcements”, “Introduce Yourself” and “[RULES] Read Before Posting”. If you click on those sub-forums you will see a page of topics.
4. topic- a topic is the actual discussion that is brought up by a user. Any user, including the admin, can post a new topic by clicking “New Topic” in the appropriate sub-form.
5. reply- if a user reads a topic and wants to respond directly to it, they can hit reply and say what they want.
You, as the admin, have to create the categories and sub-forums and give them their titles and descriptions. You can do that all by clicking “Options” (right from your webpage. Make sure you are logged in). With the “options” button you can even change the appearance, titles, you can block visitors, chose whether you want to pin a topic (sticky), etc... If you need something, you will find it in “Options”
Play around with it for a while, don’t expect to have a forum up and running tomorrow. Take some time to click around and learn.
You know where to find me if you need assistance.
Best of luck

For anyone reading this post and wondering how to add the forum to your page, visit www.nabble.com and follow the steps to create and customise your forum. Then click on "Embedding Options" at the top of the page and copy the HTML code. Back on your SynthaSite, follow these steps:
1. Drag and drop an HTML widget from the sidebar onto your page
2. Paste the code into the HTML editor
3. Click on ok and your forum will be added to your page
You can view the forum by clicking on Preview or republishing your site.

After doing a bit of research I am also thinking of trying "Nabble" or "Lefora" as an embeddable forum. I was wondering if there have been any Comparison threads here about this? , the pros and cons. I did read alot yesterday but have gotten a few things mixed up.
1. Question if I may : I'm sure I read that with either Lefora or Nabble that any forum users on your site would have to 'sign in' and register with Lefora or Nabble.
Is this true for both of these forum builders? ... even when embedded?
(even if it's a once off thing this would deter alot of users one would think)
From my reading Lefora actually has many more features but from the few examples I've seen , I so far prefer the look/style of certain Nabble forums.
Which leads me to one more question ...
2. : Can someone point me to threads here containing examples of peoples embedded forums with their .YolaSite? ... actually one of the only ones i've seen that are on a .yolasite domain is CineVids website listed above. I would like to see a few more examples of this with the different popular forum builders.
I don't expect any free forums to be at the level of quality as say the PHPBB boards but something similar would be nice as it's such a user friendly interface (speaking strictly as a user and occasional mod , never admin though).
I've never actually published my site yet as I'm somewhat a perfectionist and want to get things at least half satisfactory before even thinking whether to publish. Also definatly want to have a forum so I'm trying to get a better idea about this before I decide which way to go. I am still well and truly a novice.
So any helpful links/info/personal opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx ,
Luc.
P.s. I put this up here so as not to have yet another "Forums?" thread clogging up the boards ... I hope this is o.k. :)
