Do I need to do this, I cant find anywhere where I can add something to the damn head.

"Unfortunately, we do not have access to the head.

However, people have found a workaround that issue by simply dragging a HTML widget over to the topmost part of the body and pasting the code.

Be advised to try this on a test page first in case the code doesn't work or it breaks. You don't want to lose all your hard work due to this."

Everything is so damn hard dammit.

Hi tommystam,

I'm sorry that you are frustrated and finding this difficult. Please remember that you are learning a new set of skills, and it will get easier with time. It's like learning to ride a bike, it takes time and practice.

The reason we recommend a test page is that sometimes code acts in ways that we don't expect and it's far better to lose a test page than one that you have spent hours working on.

This forum is a great place to get advice an help from our wonderful community and our champs. We are here to help you.

Nice. I want the menu you're using for the site too!! Also, maybe you could put a screenshot of the menu next to "tell me more" so I can decide if I want you to tell me more or not.

Love the glossy menu! Thanks! In the code the image names have a b in them for blue but the images you have for download have an r for red. Could confuse first timers.

I just dropped an html box at the top of the page and pasted the head code. Then I dropped another html box below that and pasted the rest of the code. See my note above about the image names you will have to change the 'b' to 'r'

I'm so close I can taste it. If someone can please look at what I did:

I saved all 3 red tab menu pictures in my yola file manager. Do I need to do anything else for these? They are named menur.gif, etc

Than I inserted an html box on top of the page and inserted this code in there: (Is this code correct?)

/*Credits: By Santosh Setty (http://webdesigninfo.wordpress.com) *//*Posted to: Dynamic Drive CSS Library (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/) */.glossymenu{position: relative;padding: 0 0 0 10px;margin: 0 auto 0 auto;background: url(resources/menub_bg.gif) repeat-x; /*tab background image path*/height: 46px;list-style: none;}.glossymenu li{float:left;}.glossymenu li a{float: left;display: block;color:#000;text-decoration: none;font-family: sans-serif;font-size: 13px;font-weight: bold;padding:0 0 0 16px; /*Padding to accomodate left tab image. Do not change*/height: 46px;line-height: 46px;text-align: center;cursor: pointer;}.glossymenu li a b{float: left;display: block;padding: 0 24px 0 8px; /*Padding of menu items*/}.glossymenu li.current a, .glossymenu li a:hover{color: #fff;background: url(resources/menub_hover_left.gif) no-repeat; /*left tab image path*/background-position: left;}.glossymenu li.current a b, .glossymenu li a:hover b{color: #fff;background: url(resources/menub_hover_right.gif) no-repeat right top; /*right tab image path*/}

Than under that html box I placed another Html box with this code in it:

I also replaced the b's with r's and changed the url's to my site's url's

Now what I get is a nice black horizontal menu with black letters except when you put your mouse over them they turn white, there is also one that always remains white.

What would you say I'm missing?

Hi Tommy

Could you please leave your page URL where you've added the code so that one of us or a forum user can see what you've done? Thanks.

Also, if you need to post your code on the forum, you need to either use an encoder: http://forsite.synthasite.com/encoder... or wrap your code in <!-- your code goes in here -->. This will prevent the forum from actually interpreting your codes.

Hi Sanja, I sent you an email!

Diane, yeah, I always publish my site. What's going on now is that the menu looks black with white letters, that's where I'm stuck, any help appreciated. How can I make it like Alex's nice blue-white menu?

Sorry, had to delete my sites and account, HTML is not for me, went back to Wix, better to pay more but have the liberty and ease to do as you wish, what I can build on WIX in one day would take me probably 1 week here.

Hi alex,
why should you close the site, just because one yola user can not understand it.
It can be useful to more experienced users.
So my verdict
Keep it open.
John

Hey Alex, I didnt leave Yola because I couldnt understand your instructions, I'm just not that great with HTML so Yola just wasnt for me, although it's better than using dreamweaver for someone like me it's still a far cry away from ease of use compared to something like Wix.

I think I;'ve been spoiled by their editor. Good luck, I hope Yola improves for noobs like me who dont know much HTML.

tom we are all here to help people. there are also yola champs that know the sitebuilder very well. search this forum for more ideas and any question post a topic in here or e-mail support@yola.com if you get stuck. beleave me i have about 5 published sites with yola and i have also research some hosts but no host is simple than yola. Other hosts have a rubbish site builder and not easy to use but yola's site builder well you might as well close your eyes and see what you get!!
