hi...i am testing the free website builder to help me decide if i want to purchase hosting for my website here. how can i have two different fonts and font sizes for my header text? i want the first 5 letters of my website name to be in a big beefy font and the last 6 letters to be a smaller sized plain font.

also...i changed my navigation text color ("home" "photo gallery" "what we offer") and they all changed except for "home"...i can't find where to change this text color and don't understand why it doesn't change along with the rest of the navigation text headings...?

one more thing...where is the undo button? (or is there not one?)

thanks in advance :)

Hi Kristi

Thank you for checking out the Yola Sitebuilder!

The Style Designer is used to help you achieve a consistent result throughout your site with regard to font settings, colors and template design. However, if you enter inline formatting that conflicts with the Style Designer, this will be over-written.

For your main header:
1) Click on "Style Designer"
2) Click "Fonts"
3) Click "Main Header"
4) Click "Text Transform"
5) Select the "Inherit" option so that you can type upper and lowercase letters.

Using more thank one font style within the same header is not supported. This would be a non-standard way of editing. What it sounds like to me is that you are looking for a logo of sorts, which would be better served by creating your custom header using an image editor to use the large/small font combination and then using the Style Designer to upload it as a logo.

I had a look at your navigation and all the links are white. My first thought was that you had the "hover" or "visited" options set to a different color - but they are all white at the moment, so I wonder if you managed to resolve this?

There is no "undo" button. You can back out of a change by not saving when prompted. The Style Designer is set up to allow you to preview your changes in the adjacent page, and only save when you are satisfied.

I hope this helps. There is definitely a learning curve in the beginning, but once you have everything set up as you want it in the Style Designer you will have a very reliable and consistent editing experience.

Let us know if you need any further help.

hi Monique :) thanks for the response! While i was waiting i did figure out the text transform (i had been way up at the top of style designer's menu, using presets>fonts and thinking that that was all i could do with my text font editing...derr)

as far as what you are suggesting for my header text look, i need some clarification, please...is the image editor that you speak of a part of Yola's site builder, or are you saying that i should use software like illustrator to make the fonts do what i want and then save it as a jpg or something and insert it as an image into my header?... and choosing to put no text in my Yola header text dialogue box?

i am on my site builder now and it is still white for the "home" word and black for "photo gallery" and "what we offer" ...not sure why we are both seeing two different things...?

undo...bummer ;) seems like a good thing to add

Hello Kristi

What Monique suggested is to use an external image or graphic editor, such as Adobe Illustrator or Pixlr, to create a logo for your website. You would then save your work to your computer, upload it to Yola, and add it instead of a page heading. If you'd like to have additional text, you could add this as a tagline (Page > Page Properties > Heading).

When I view your website in the Sitebuilder, I see that your navigation font colour is set to black. The "Home" menu link is white because it's the selected link, i.e. the current page viewed. When you click on another menu link, it will turn white as it displays the new page. You can change this in the Style designer under "Font Colors". "Navigation (selected)" is what makes your current page link turn white.

Some advice since you are starting off with a test site.....If you decide to upgrade and have Yola host for you. Always keep your test site for trying new things. More so 3rd party widgets and such that can cause a major headache if they don't work properly or as in some cases break a site.

Hello bliisti

I'm sorry, but there is currently no option to duplicate a whole Yola website within your account. To duplicate websites, you'd need to create a new website and rebuild it from scratch.
