Frustrated with these Glitches

After I sent the e-mail about my File Manager, a Yola representative told me to erase my site and start over. I'd like to know if I can get the new site ready before deleting the first one, so that I can copy some pages. Not copy-pasting anything.
I'd like to know if I can do so, with no problem.

However, in the new site I'm trying to create, stuff only does what I want when itself wants.

1. I want to make a text with no space above or below it inside the text box. I could do so before, but now, I can't. When the text box is fully empty and you press delete or backspace, the spaces above and below disappear. It should do it to make a text how I want it. But it doesn't. I start writing, and the spaces return. It doesn't work to copy the text from Notepad, as it used to. When I do that, all the paragraphs are stuck together, like they're supposed to. But now, if I want to keep writing, the next paragraph will have a space between it and the last one.

2. Sometimes, I want to make a text bigger or bold or whatever. But the text options only do what I want when they want.

I need to know what's wrong before I publish my site, because if I don't know, it may get corrupted someday, and cause me to lose all my data.

Hi TiagoJ7,

I've found your email that you've sent to us - I see that Emmy was assisting you and she will be online again later today. I've asked her to reply to you. I'm sorry you're frustrated and I hope we can help you to get your site back up and running.

Unfortunately it's not possible to copy pages from one site to another on Yola.

On point 1, if the default line spacing of the text widget is double-line spacing, you can hit the Shift-Enter keys together (Firefox and Internet Explorer) or Ctrl-Enter (Safari) when you want to go to the next single line.

If you could tell me what style you're using (or just paste your site's address so that I can take a look) and I'll be able to give you more detailed information.

With regard to point 2, there is a bug currently on Yola that works like this:
1. If you add text to your page and select *only* the text (don't select any spaces before or after the text), you will be able to format the text using the text toolbar.
2. If you add text to your page and select *all* the text (using 'select-all') or sweep the text with your cursor and include a space at the end of the text, you will find that you are unable to format the text using the text toolbar.

Does that describe what you're experiencing? Please let us know if it's different.

Let me see...

I'm copying stuff from my site to a new one, comparing one page to a new one I'm making. I'm not copying anything, I'm just comparing stuff to make the pages look alike.

In the text, I erase any space on the right or the left of it. I do make Ctrl+A to select it all. Are you saying I should select one word at a time?

After some time, I managed to make the text box doing what I want, but only after I write and erase, and eliminate the spaces above and below, over and over and over again. I, eventually, get what I wanted.

What I'm most worried about is the possibility of my new site getting corrupted like the first one did. All these glitches... I still don't understand the text box. Sometimes, the bold or the size works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes, it looks like I can only do what I want in another text box below, and not the one on top. When I press delete or backspace, the text boxes loses, only sometimes, the spaces,... Very confusing.

Hi Tiago,
I am sorry you are experiencing these glitches; this is unacceptable to us as well and we are working to make sure they never happen again. The problem that you are having with your text box, this is a bug we are currently experiencing a bug, this is how it works:

If you add text to your page and select only the text (don't select any spaces before or after the text), you will be able to format the text using the text toolbar.

If you add text to your page and select all the text (using 'select-all') or sweep the text with your cursor and include a space at the end of the text, you will find that you are unable to format the text using the text toolbar. Can you give this a try and let us know if you are still having trouble formatting your text.

Thanks,
Emmy

Yes, it works like you said. There's still the other problem about the spaces above and below, but I somehow can corner it and make it work. I just don't know how I do it. It's trial and error.

Right now, I'm being able to format how I want. It just takes a while to make the text box work the way I want. That's all.

Hello TiagoJ7

You can also try this: Go into your HTML and delete the <p> and </p> This will make your whole paragraph single-spaced. Then hit enter whenever you want it double-spaced.

There's an HTML for text boxes?
I'm not understanding what you mean.

Yes.. on your text toolbar, you'll see an HTML button. Click on that HTML button and it'll open up the HTML codes for that text box.

Click on the text inside your text widget.
You should then see the HTML editor.

Wow... I can't go wrong with the HTML.
As I said, I'm already managing to get the text to work how I want. But knowing the HTML feature is pretty cool. Thanks.
