I'm upset that I paid almost $100.00 for a service that does not give me free workspace capabilities. You have a limit with what you provide. Your gallery is very simple with no creative capabilities. You shouldn't have to go through several steps or pay extra for services (become a member on someone else’s site) to create something on a CMS site.

Hi April,

We are sorry to hear how disappointed you are.

Please can you share a bit more of what you are hoping to accomplish when it comes to adding a photo gallery to your site? We really value our customers opinions and would like to look into your thoughts for improving what we offer. Thanks!

Hi Brianna,

Thanks for getting back with me. I think wix.com is a good example of a good user friendly CMS workspace and service. They give free pictures and have an array of different types of slideshows you can upload your pictures in, etc. http://www.wix.com/

Wix is mainly flash based web building and Yola is not.Really it comes down to what type of site you want.

Thanks KanThaiDecor! Yes, Wix.com is mainly Flash but all of the services they provide within their workspace is free. I like that you don't have to go through Google or Fotolia, etc. to get stuff for your website. They want you to work through them so they provide all the needed fixings for your site but, you are correct, it really comes down to what type of site you want and what kind of CMS site will fit your needs.

Flash is great for keeping people on your site but has no value in getting them there in the first place. . .html5 will change all that. I have an account at wix myself and have used their flash to embed slide shows about my site in other places such as xanga or squidoo

Hi, April,

Thanks for letting us know what you are interested in. As KanThaiDecor pointed out, Flash is different than an HTML based sitebuilder such Yola. The industry is actually moving away from Flash towards HTML5. We have added a number of new features and we are constantly evaluating and planning more. For example, the custom panel feature, the Picture Gallery Widget and the new Heading dialog which allows new features for headings such as alignment, changing color and custom fonts.

We do also have Fotolia integration in our File Manager. While not free, it offers a wider variety of images to choose from rather than a set number that everyone is picking from.

As for slideshows, we are looking into this feature but I do not have any dates on when that might be released. I will certainly pass your concerns along as a feature request!

Will be great when it is all html5 and you can do all the cool things flash does...It will have actual SEO value from what I have read.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for letting me know about html5 and responding to my concern. I think the added cost of certain additions was the main disappointment and concern when I started to develop my site with Yola. I know Wix.com is mainly Flash and I have worked on a website for a client with them. I'm a flash and interactive media fan so I guess I was hoping to have that option with your site too. I'm so glad to hear that html5 will have the same capabilities as Flash and that Yola will be using it in the future. This sounds great!!! Also, having more slideshow options in the future sounds wonderful. I can't wait!! Again, Thanks for responding. Your customer service team is very helpful and I'm a big fan.

Cheers!
April
