Will Synthasite be considering adding back-end functionality in the future, to allow interfaces with programming languages that might lead to a MySQL application? For example, I write a non HTML poll of some complexity and want it to borrow processing bandwidth from another source and return results in real time?

Hey There

We are planning on opening up widgets and styles for development. Widgets can be written in PHP, but we're haven't considered allowing widgets to create their own databases. We may decide to do this in the future, but I can't promise anything.

Once we expose widgets for development a great way to do what you're trying would be to write the logic for your widget using something like Google App Engine, expose the logic through XML/ JSON APIs and use those in your widget.

Thanks for using SynthaSite :)
