I'm looking for a way to upload an image that, when you click on it, it pops up. I could use a gallerie just for one picture, but I want the original to be bigger, or the size I want.

Hello Celine

You would need to create your own code to make a customized image gallery as you describe it. You can check this forum for help, post a request to our Champions, or do a web search to find codes and instructions.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for helping me.
Isn't this by any chance something Yola is working on?

Hello Celine

I have re-read your initial post, and I think the Picture Gallery Widget could do the job you want. The light box which appears when clicking on the thumbnails automatically adjusts to the dimensions of the original picture and screen size of the computer used. If you want your image to display larger, you can simply upload a larger image and use this for your Picture Gallery Widget.

However, having a picture with higher dimensions may result in a larger file size if you don't want to lose on quality. The image file sizes recommended for the internet are 20-100KB per image.

Hi Stefan,

It's not the light box that is the problem, it's the thumbnail that is too small. I would like to be able to adjust that size myself.
The picture gallery widget has fixed sizes.

Hello Celine

That's true, I see. You could try to ask for Shawn Holman's assistance on this thread as he has helped users on our forum a lot with custom coding. I can't promise that he will be available, though.

What you could also do is a web search to find some code or a third-party provider who offers what you want to achieve. If they provide you HTML code, you can add it to your Yola website using the HTML Widget.

We've got a couple of improvements for the Yola Sitebuilder on our roadmap for this year, but there are no changes planned for the Picture Gallery Widget in particular.

Hello Celine,

A recent gallery has been produced which allows both the setting of the thumbnail size and the lightbox size. http://blog.teamtreehouse.com/html5cs...

Thanks. It looks quite difficult. But maybe if I take my time...
If anybody has a more simple solution, let me know!
