Yes. I would do that by pulling a text widget onto your page above the Online Store widget. Then just adding the appropriate message to the widget..

Thanks again Gop, done that

Now is there a way that a customer can send a message witht he order apart from through the contact us page ie:- if they wish to add a name to a door plaque or add a name to a card etc?

Sue I think this will take you through it,

You can do this through Product Options.
After setting it up the input field becomes apparent and will be seen by the customer.

How to add product options to your products

How to add product options to your products
1. In the products menu, select the tab Options.
2. Decide exactly what you want your option to do and be called and click on "New Option"
3. Then follow these steps
3.1 Complete the title and choose the input type(for example "Select").
3.2 Click on "New Selection" and then complete the text box under the "Title" column.
.
.
.
If you want more than one selection for each option, just repeat step 3.2.
To add more than one option just repeat steps 2 and 3

4. Once you have all your options set click on save.

There's a video on that reference page which if you follow it through shows how to setup a text area for your customers input. This is the most relevant aspect of the tutorial for your need. Happy to be here if you want some walls to bounce off.

Hi Gop

I seem only to be able to select the options tab in individual products and create the new option, which works fine but when I want to add the option to another product, I am having to click 'new option' again and start from scratch - I must be doing something wrong.

Hello Sue,

The options are product specific so you do need to add it from scratch to each product.

Hi Sue,

Not a major task. You will have it up and running within minutes.

First thing to do is to get your STOREID. Go to My Yola and click on Online Store. At the bottom left hand side your STOREID is seen. Just copy this down on some paper for the moment.

Next go into your Online Store Control Panel
Go to System settings → Payment page.
Find PayPal payment method. (PayPal Website Payments Standard)
Click "Account details" link in the Payment Processor column. A popup window will appear.
Insert your PayPal account's email address(e.g. paypal@example.com) Save the changes.

Make sure to uncheck the Sandbox tick.
Enable this payment method and save the changes once again.

The next thing to do is to make sure that PayPal is doing the right thing.

Log in to your PayPal account. This is all done within PayPal not within the Store.

Proceed to "My account → Profile → More Options → My selling tools → Instant Payment Notifications" page and make sure that "Message delivery" option is enabled. If it's disabled, click "Edit settings" and select "Receive IPN messages (Enabled)". Ecwid sends the necessary value of "IPN URL" in each request to PayPal. However PayPal requires to enter some value there. So use the following URL: http://app.ecwid.com/paypalstandard/S... where STOREID is your actual Store ID. For example: http://app.ecwid.com/paypalstandard/1003
Also it's recommend to enable the "Auto Return" option. You can find it on "Profile → More Options → My selling tools → Website Preferences" page. Ecwid sends the necessary value of the "Return URL" in each request to PayPal, so you can put any URL there, for example: http://app.ecwid.com/paypalstandard/S.... Hopefully these are pre-configured which makes it easier.

If you are having difficulty with the lower section PayPal account you can leave it for the minute. This allows you to receive SMS notification etc and isn't obligatory from the beginning it can be something to add later. Yola/Ecwid preconfigure the essentials of this

Hi Gop

Done this one as above:-Auto Return for Website Payments but note the following do I need to set all this up or is it already on Yola?

Return URL Requirements: The following items are required in order to set up Auto Return.
•In accordance with the User Agreement, you must provide written information on the page displayed by the Return URL that will help the buyer understand that the payment has been made and that the transaction has been completed.
•You must provide written information on the page displayed by the Return URL that explains that payment transaction details will be emailed to the buyer.
•Example: Thank you for your payment. Your transaction has been completed and a receipt for your purchase has been emailed to you. You may log into your account at www.paypal.com/uk to view details of this transaction.

Then we have payment data transfer too - does this need enabling?

Regards

Sue

You have already checked that by using the sandbox. That's about as close as you can go until you get your orders coming in.
