I have recently set up my website www.muttsnmoggies.com and specialize in handmade crystal cat and dog collars. Any comments or suggestions are most welcome. I am also happy to share links with related sites...please contact. The problem I have is Google adsense has just been placed in my guestbook somehow. How do I remove this?

Hi there,

I can see the Google Ad's on that page - did you definitely not add them yourself?!

Unfortunately I don't have the answer as to why they're there. I will investigate and come back to you. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to jump in.

Hi Marije, thanks for swift reply. I did not add them myself and have never signed up for google adwords or adsence. I contacted google and thier reply was "If you’ve never applied for AdSense and Google ads are appearing on your site, it’s likely that your web hosting company has an account with AdSense and has chosen to display AdSense ads on certain pages within its network. If you have any questions or concerns about the ads on your site, please contact your web hosting company directly." I can only assume that Synthasite is responsible? Why on my guestbook? Could it be the guestbook that I added? If so, will I have to remove guestbook? However, I am still unable to remove them so its rather frustrating. Any ideas would be much apprecieted. I understand your frustration and I'm going to try and get more information for you. Is it possible that it's the Guestbook that you're using? Have you used it on other pages/sites without the same effect?

I was looking at the widget and I have a feeling you are right it is the widget... that is how they make money...A free widget with ads they get paid for.I do think they should be up front and say that though if this is the case

It seems that the Google Ads have disappeared - is that right? Did you make a change on your side?

Hi Marije, yes I removed the guest book which seems to have solved the problem. It is a shame I have had to do that as I have lost several valued comments. However, as some people pointed on here, it was almost certainly the guestbook I added that was to blame. I suppose you dont always get something for free. I may have to live without a guestbook. Thanks for your efforts, much appreciated. Mutts*n*Moggies
