Adsense. When I signed up for adsense I went to their page where you can make the various codes and got the code for a 125x125 banner. Google has said I can put the code into any page. Why then should I put in their numbers here? I'd rather not give any site's or company more than what is absolutely needed. I put in the code and the banner works fine without doing anything further such as in putting in my ref code here in the site builder.

i don't exactly understand what you mean, but i think that you are getting google adsense confused with google webmaster. those are two completely different things

for adsense, all you have to do is paste the code in either an html widget, or the adsense widget (there is no difference). that is all.

if you want to verify your site with google webmaster (not to be confused with adsense) then you have to type that long number under "google webmaster code" to the right

i've been using adsense for months and it works fine

i hope that solves your question

Now I feel stupid. One of those things. Google is too common of a word now and easy to get jumbled up and confused.

Don't feel bad, it takes time to learn new terminology!
