Google Analytics - Using Footer in Site Properties - or HTML Widget?

I have published my site and used Google Analytics in the footer as it shows under site properties, though I know in other products I have used it puts it at end of the header. I read some other threads the say to put it in a widget on every page in the same place .

For anyone who is using Google Analytics - which method worked or does either. I guess I just wondered why google says to put it at the end of the header and in the site properties suggests putting it in the footer.

And I do understand it won't show up for maybe 24 hours, but wanted to make sure I implemented what gives the best results for using Google Analytics.

Hi, Karen,

Normally, it's recommended to place Google Analytics in the footer as the page is finished being displayed when the connection is made to Analytics. You can test both ways and see which one works better. I hope this helps!

Thank you very much Diane. I have started with the footer ...as that is definitely easier versus putting on every page. Will see what happens.
