Google apps unable to verify my domain owner via DNS

Last night I downloaded and followed the tutorial to set up my email address via Google apps. However Google apps is unable to verify my domain ownership depsite the fact that I successfully configured their DNS to my website.
I waited until today to retry the verification and it's still the same. I am unable to verify my website
can someone help me please?

Hello Orodefm,

I am sorry you are having this problem. Can you please tell us the domain you are wanting to verify with Google Apps? We can then check it for you and make sure your settings are correct.

Thanks for responding so quickly. My website is www.infiniteartsmedia.co.uk

I haven't finished building it so it's unpublished and it did cross my mind if that may be why google apps couldn't verify it.

Thanks for sharing your domain. I have checked the DNS records for your domain.

I see that the TXT record (Google Apps verification code) has not yet been added to your domain records which is most likely why it is not verifying. Take a look at Steps 8 and 9 in this tutorial for adding your TXT record to your domain.

Your site does not have to be published for Google Apps to be able to verify your domain.

Once you have added your TXT record, it can take up to 48 hours to update on the web.

At the time I had followed steps 8 and 9 and received the message that the TXT had been successfully added at which point I would go back to google apps to verify and it would be unable to do this.

I tried this several times re-copying and pasting the TXT code given by google apps.

Am I doing something wrong? I will go back and look at steps 8 and 9 just to be sure.
