I've been following some of the threads with people wanting to add this feature. Unfortunately, most users on these threads have not put links to their sites on their Get Satisfaction profiles! (You should, as I've found it's generating good traffic for me =).

So, I was wondering if google friend connect was working out for anyone so far? and if anyone had integrated it with their blog as a comment system? I want to see some examples. I currently have Disqus on my blog... I also have a google group to handle the mailing list (with subscribe boxes on the main page, and on the contact page) and was wondering if making a switch...

Hi Cosmic,

I have added google friend connect but I don't have a lot of trafic, so I don't have any members yet. I have had trouble with Disqus. I got an email complaint from one of my blog readers saying they didn't like the fact that they needed to sign up with Disqus to post a comment. I have reloaded the code hoping that there was some mistake. I am also hoping that with google friend connect and the wall posting widget I can make this easier for my readers.

You can check out my site at

As of yet I don't have any comments on my blog which is conserns me since I used to get at least a few comments a week on my blogger blog. Still, I hope it's just a period of transition (I just loaded the wall widget last week and perhaps disqus will work properly now).

So to answer your questions: Google friend connect is ok so far but I'm still not sold. And I have not yet integrated it with my blog as a comment system but depending on where the majority of my posts come from over the next while I might.

I would also be interested in hearing what other people have been doing with their blog comments (in regards to google friend connect and disqus) and how it has been working for them.

Hey Tina - readers of your blog don't need to sign up to leave a comment, but they do need to leave their name and email address. This is so that you can see who's left a comment and they can get any replies from you.
