I have tried everything you have suggested to all others with this question. My URL works, my site is easy to find, etc. etc. But Google keeps stating that it cannot verify my site....that the metatag is incorrect. I have tried everything you have suggested....copying just between the quotations, adding the equal mark at the end, copying all of it, etc. etc. I put it in the correct space on Yola. I have done websites before on builders and have had no problem but this is driving me nuts. I understand it, but it won't work. My website is http://www.veruspondera.com
Please help if you can. I'm desperate.

Hi Sage,

I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. After adding in the meta tag, did you remember to republish your site?

Several times - after each addition, over and over.

Oh, buddy. i brought you a proved answer.
In Goog's verification window , click on the "show found meta tag" button. Then , look at what it shows.
If it fails , delete it and try again.I meant deleting the google webmaster tool's unverified site.

Make sure that you added the meta tag to "www.yoursite.Com/index.Php" page.

If it fails , first , copy the entire tag and paste it in the very top of your index page. You can add yahoo , bing and others tags in the same place specified here.Clear the existing meta tag value in the site bar, publish , wait 10 min and try to verify.

If this fails , try clearing your Title , keywords and description values. You can add 'em later.

If this fails ,
try creating servaral accounts for subpages and loop to the fron.

We have a special location for adding the Google Webmaster code. Please be sure to use this spot. It's found under your "Properties" tab in the Sidebar, to the right of your screen.

When you add these meta tags here, they will be inserted into the code in the head section of the page.

If you're finding that your site is not verifying, these are the possible reasons:

1. Make sure that you have entered the proper code into the Google Webmaster field. You only need to enter the text that is between the " " and nothing else; it will look something like this: XlBMeWkrAxWIJtD5n3C3N8Zv09QKKl3R1MaoZnssKA0

2. Make sure you republished your site by clicking on the green "Publish to the web" button after you entered the code. This will apply the change to your site so Google can crawl it.

3. If you have done both of these things and are still not able to verify your site, you may have entered your url in incorrectly. My suggestion would be to go back through the tutorial and redo the steps to make sure each part was done properly. Here is a link to the tutorial: [Google Webmaster Tutorial.

4. You can also see this link on Google's Support Page: I tried to verify my site and I received an error. What can I do? for more information.
