I started two sites at the same time, one on Yola (which I like) and one on google sites. Its over a week since I did this. ON the yola page construction site i used the options in the 'page options' window, saved and published. The google site was found by google searches very quickly. The yola site still hasn't been found and if i google my site using the words i defined, google doesn't find it. Have i done something wrong?

Do the sites have the same content? Could you provide the sites - Have you pinged them - Ping is having the site in a spot where google will index

A week is not a long time in search world ...dont stress too much these things take time to be indexed

Publish the name of the yola site on this blog and google should pick it up and ping it quickly.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for sharing this. As Courier's Australia has mentioned (thanks!), getting your sites found on a search engine does not happen in a week, in fact, sometimes it may take months for your site to be found on a search engine.

We have put together a nice amount of tutorials that take you through the steps of Promotion, SEO, Traffic and Advertising. You can find them here. If you would like, we could also double check that you have the proper information on your website to get it verified by Google. Please share the URL of your site that is not found on Google.

Hi Colyn,

Don't be disheartened by your site not being indexed. As Brianna mentioned it can take several months but usually not.

The best advice is to keep following the SEO Tutorial here in Yola and keep adding more original and interesting material. If you have Facebook and or Twitter you can use these to create interest by joining a group of people of like minds or people looking for advice on your product. Give out tips on installation, maintenance, replacement etc.

Good luck Colyn.

Hi Colyn

Please also note that URLs that include a free Yola Subdomain such as yours are less successful to be indexed by the search engines and to get a good ranking. You will get better and maybe even quicker results if you use a custom domain for your Yola website.

If you would really like to give your site a boost for the search engines, you may want consider buying a custom domain from Yola. You're welcome to see our tutorial for more information.

Hi Lesli,

First I have to say, what a stunning property! Happily I can report your website has already been indexed on Google which you can see from this search result.

What I think you may be referring to is your website being returned based on specific key words. If this is accurate, I suggest you go through this tutorial for more information.

Best of luck in selling your property!
