The google webmaster code tutorial states that you should only enter the code on your index page, when I enter mine it apply's to all my pages automatically, if I try and delete it on a page other then the index page it deletes automatically on every page.
Is it ok on every page?

Hi David

I am sorry about this. The addition of the Google Webmaster code to every page of your site is a bug with our sitebuilder. When you add it to the index page it automatically applies to every page. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this and we just need to fix the bug. It has been reported and we hope that it will be fixed in an upcoming release.

In the meantime, if you have any difficulty verifying your site with Google because of this, please let us know.

I apologize for the inconvenience!

OK that's fine thanks, you should maybe edit your tutorial so you're not advising people to just insert it in their index page.

Hey David

I believe there may be a misunderstanding here. You are not supposed to add the Google Webmaster code to each page. It is in fact, only supposed to go on your index page. However, due to the bug, each page is being populated with the code which should not be happening. The tutorial does have the correct information - it just this unfortunate bug that is occurring which is causing the confusion. Apologies for this!

Hi Sanja
I think there was a double misunderstanding, what I meant was a temporary edit to advise people that they can't just add it to their index page, in other words tell them of the bug.
Is it best not to add it to any page until this bug is fixed? What are the implications of having it on every page?

Hi David,
I wanted to let you know that this bug has been fixed and the Google Webmaster code, when added to the area under the Properties tab, will only be added to the homepage and not every page.

Thanks for your patience while we worked on that!

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hi David,
The code will still "show" on each page in the Sitebuilder under the Properties tab, however the fix is that it is not present in the actual code. If you view the page source of any of the pages you will see that the actual Google Webmaster code is only present on the homepage.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
