I've been trying to put in the Google webmaster code on my home page to get my site verified. This is what I keep getting back:

(Verification status: NOT VERIFIED
Last attempt Jul 24, 2008: Your verification meta tag should be 0UhzDknMjJ0VpsMk6gfl424EGzMqfcC24kbWd0lx+rs=. The meta tag we found was <metaname=)

I have tried several times. Can anyone help me out here? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Hi Judi,

Are you adding only the code section of the info they gave you? I have added steps below, could you let me know if that's what you did and the problem is still happening?

After you sign up for a Google Webmaster account and type in your URL, here are the steps you should follow:
1) Select the meta tag verification option. Here is an example of what you will see:

2) Only copy the portion bHhq...x8I=.
3) In SynthaSite, click on the properties sidebar and paste that code in the specially designated "Google Webmaster" field. Do this for every page of your site that you want Google to track.
4) Republish your site and check back with Google Webmaster to make sure that it has been verified.

Please let me know if you're still not having any luck? I have answered your question that you emailed to us as well.

I had the same issue when trying to paste the whole code into the Google Webmaster Code box in properties. Discovered that I should only post the long string of letters/numbers after content= (do not include the quotes). Hope this helps!

I did not know that I should paste code on each page...updated that info today.
