Google webmasters has a section that tells you what links are broken in your site during a webcrawl and it also tells you when the list of broken sites was updated. How come, when you fix or delete a link then publish your site, then this list is updated... the fixed links still remain on this list of broken links?

Hi Donald,

When Google re-crawls your site and finds things fixed you won't see those errors anymore.

the errors have been there ever since they were first found even after I've fixed them and after google crawls them again... this was the problem.

Hi Donald,

Do you know what kind of error Google reported? They have more information on their Help pages: http://google.com/support/webmasters/.... That may help you to get answers.

yea... it was a 404 not found for each of the 52 links... it started with 12 broken links... I fixed each one, then I had 20 broken links (the first 12 were still in the list), then 35 broken links (the 20 that were fixed were still in the list), and now 52 broken links and the 35 that were and are currently fixed or non existent are still in this list. It's kind of confusing because I have to search through the list to find the ones that haven't been fixed and I'm afraid that because it's still reading they're broken it'll lower my page rank even though the links have been fixed.

It seemed that for me I had like 60-65 broken links (can't remember the exact number) anyways......I think google sometimes has trouble following the links. I think that because I went through and checked each link and they all are fine. What links are you having trouble with if any?

mostly the links embedded in my pictures I get from the internet, I tend to delete the links but sometimes forget and a lot of them are broken links. But the point isn't about the broken links, it's easy to fix them... The point is, after fixing them and after google recrawls the site, the links are still read as broken... I hope this doesn't affect my page rank.
