Happy Valentines Day!

Ed or Guido, or anyone? I have a question about images. I figure you guys would be the best ones to ask.

One of the most important things I do on my site is I do Chart discussion. I then try to copy that chart into my blog.

What I do is I hit ctrl+prtscrn to get a screen shot. I paste it in paint. Then I save it and upload it to synthasite.

My problem is I got new charts and for some reason when I post the file I save the image is so small. When I try to make it bigger it gets blurry.

So does anyone have any suggestions?

Here is where my problems is http://www.winnersedgetrading.com/tra...

Thanks.

Casey

I do not use paint often, but iI know in Photoshop you can specify at what resolution you save it... Try saving it at a higher res - like around 200 so it will still load fast. I have also had better luck with png as opposed to jpg for certain files (like Photoshop created pieces I use png - from a camera I use jpgs) Even if the image is too large when placed on the page, you will have better results shrinking it instead of enlarging.

Happy birthday Surferdude.
I'll have one for you.......Ok maybe two.

@ Casey,
FastStone Image Viewer is an image browser, converter and editor. I use it for all my screenshots and picture resizeing. Give it a try.
Oh yes it's FREE a well. http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDeta...

Also, do a search on Jpeg vs png vs Gif conversions.
There's a lot of info on which format gives the best compression ratio.
As Guido says..... saving as "Jpeg" works better on photo's.
Experiment with saving @ 150dpi, 96dpi and 72dpi and remember, to
make your images web friendly, try keeping them under 100Kb

Boomer buddy

You chap my backside ;) I see how it is... Place my lined out name right in the middle of such fine a list of ladies and to omit the words "and man"

Game on mate... If I wasn't sick, coughing and in bed I would take a trip to SA and see who is the funny one... One day man, one day... ;)

And to think nobody stuck up for me... :(

Happy B-day Guido I am envious of your Universal trip as it has been 10 years since I was there last... Plus the fact that you are in Florida makes it even more a hard pill as we get on and off snow up here in the NW... Lucky surfer dude...

As to the screen shots:
I use Publisher because it seems to be the only one open at the time I do them. You can save as anything from a jpeg, gif and png and at up to 300dpi for the really need to get the clarity png images. I us the poster layout and then save as png 300dpi then crop and re-size the image to a manageable dimensions and file size.

My banners were done that way but sadly my imagemap menu had to have been done in gif and that sucked the quality right out of the images.

Hope everyone's day was heart filled as mine was spent coughing and in bed. First time in years I can remember getting this bad a cough. I am going back to sleep after some nighttime, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever, how the heck did I wake up on the kitchen floor medicine...
