I tried Picasa 3 a couple days ago. After a Hard reboot because my system locked up (XP) Picasa loaded and appeared to be a very sweet photo program. However the morning after my system had EIGHT trojan horses and two of them were very nasty. I immediately removed picasa. I doubt that was the source of my virus' However I'm curious if anyone else has had serious glitches with that program? I was able to remove the malware using malwarbyte's anti-malware software. (Free download and use with a pro upgrade of course.) I hate to advertise, but their program saved my butt as I couldn't even access any anti virus sites while infected.

Anyhow. I am looking for feedback on Picasa. Also my albums I uploaded to google were set to private...so doubt anyone could have gotten in there and attacked me that way.

Sorry to hear you had so many issues but I doubt Google's Picasa had anything to do with it. I had no problems with my install last month and I am using a computer that is 7 years old and outdated as all get up so if was to affect anyone I am sure it would be me first huh...

I had tried so many phot slideshow programs and widgets but as for load time I had found Picasa to always be a faster load because of Googles faster system.

Did you have to disable any antivirus or spyware program to install Picasa and not turn them back on perhaps? Just a thought

I am sad you had so many problems and now have a bitter taste in your mouth.

I am using the same slideshow on two different pages (I re-sized one with changing the code) and they seem to load just fine.

Good luck and happy web building...

Ed

I was really hoping it wasn't Picasa because when google gets the kinks worked out it'll be a great program. Most likely the trojan horses came from other sites. I try to be safe, but these things really hit me this week. Even had 6 attacks yesterday. (Attack..for lack of a better word.) Thanks for responding Ed

I downloaded it months ago from the Google company website and have had no issues at all and as I check for threats frequently I wonder if you downloaded it from a legitimate site???

Just a thought.

http://picasa.google.com/

If you download from any third party sites anyone can add a bug to it.

I recommend that if you find a program you wish to install then google for a company website first as they are more prone to keep their sites free from pests.
