I tried to rename one of my sites that crop up usually in the google search. Now, instead of what used to appear there's both sites named "about", which does not correspond to the heading of the site, which is nota bebe different from the name of the site in the menu bar! What have i done wrong in google webmaster?

Hi pernongrata,

Can you post your URL (address) for your site so that we can take a closer look, please?

Ruth,

It's www.jakubrojek.com. Part of the problem is that i was messing with the meta tag code and might have paste it few times while i was still editing some of the features of my sites that got a little out of order...well, take a look yourself

Actually, as of now everything is back to where it was, but the changes were not applied; the second page heading is Plainfield Piano Academy, but it still displayed as About (which is a window name.)

Hi pernograta

Ruth is currently on holidays! : ) I hope you don't mind me stepping on her behalf.

I'm glad to hear that everything is back to where it was. Now, you said that the changes are not applying? Can you try clicking on the yellow "Update my site" button so that the changes you made can be applied to your live site?

Please let me know if you still have trouble with this.

I did that many times yesterday and today as well...Though, last time i did this (meta tag and site maps) a year ago it took a while until the sites were actually displayed in google. Does this mean that it'll take time again to have the changes applied in google?

Yes.. that's correct pernongrata. The next time Google crawls your site, the information will be updated.
