Help a new website owner/builder who has a crawler error

I just built and published my first site on Friday for my new business, http://www.goodshepherdsecurityconsul.... Putting the site together couldn't have been easier, thanks to Yola. But I'm having technical difficulties that's frustrating me to no end. I'm about 95% sure that I properly submitted my sitemap, and I also added keywords. I checked Google Analytics earlier this afternoon and saw that I had 1 crawler error that said domain name not found. When I enter the URL, I can get to the site. But when I did a search for the site and keywords, nothing came up. I'm guessing this is probably because it takes some time for Google to index and because apparently my domain name can't be found.

I hope some of the community members can help me with this. The first time that someone is able to do a search and find me will be almost as exciting as when I decided to start my own consulting company!

Hello GSSC,

I think you are correct. Indexing is a separate process after crawling. It can be don relatively quickly after crawling or it can take up to three months (a figure bandied around) and in worse case scenario there is no guarantee that a site will be indexed but I have never heard of a creator in such a situation.

There is not so much that you can do to speed up the process but during the period you can keep adding content and when it's time for indexing you have moved even further ahead. It's a great opportunity to read and learn discuss and discard your strategies for getting popular. The SEO Tutorials are a very good intro and substance generally on the topic and easy to take in.
