Hey Mark that sounds like a code interaction. Did you put any code you found on the web on your site perhaps? I have had many of those just as you described. Try one of the following until you get her squared away:

1) Deleting the HTML widget with the bad code (should be near where you loose the ability to edit)
2) Move the HTML widget with the bad code into a two column widget to try to lock it away from interacting with the other objects on your page (Kind of a jail)
3) Place a two column widget between the bad code and the bottom half of your site which you cannot edit
4) Place a two column widget on the bottom of your page, slide the center bar all the way to the left and then place all the content on the bottom half of your page inside the right column thereby protecting it from that bad code.

Those are but a few for you to try my friend...

Happy site building
Ed

Ed thanks for replying, I did put a new code on my website (i should have mentioned that) i deleted the new code i put on my website but it didn't work. Then it got worse because i went to check on another site that i had created and it had the same problem, strangly my other site didn't have this problem.

I investigated this and i found that only areas under any banners were affected. This is a bit of a problem if you see my website (http://www.mrlinkster.yolasite.com), it never had this problem before and i doubt all of the codes in the ad banners have suddenly gone faulty.

Any ideas?

Just an off the wall question but did you by chance have two site editors open in the same browser with both sites you are working on? That can really mess up a website (both sometimes)

I use to have this same problem... it was kontera advertising causing my issue. Do you use kontera?

Nah I wasn't using any other site editor and Im not using kontera.

At the exact time my site screwed up i had just added a new flash website banner to add to my website through an image. Im sure it has something to do with that but I deleted that banner using that column jail thing but I still can't delete or move anything which is under an ad banner.

Any ideas?

Well I think you are on the right track so you could try moving each of the widgets regardless of what it is to the bottom of the page and then after each move click the in site editor "Refresh" button and when asked whether you want to save click "Yes"

It might take a while to find out where the bit of extra code is locked to a widget but when you move the one which is it will rewrite the code and free up the page.

Funny thing... It is 11PM here and I was asleep for a few hours and then 1 minute after you hit "Post reply" I awoke from a deep sleep. Odd huh ;) LOL
