I have added my online store and I am having two problems
1) on my product page (where I want customers to go to buy) the store is there but you still have to click a link to open it. Is there anyway once customers navigate to the sales page my store will just be open?

2) in my Online store I cant get my products to publish in the order I want them. I have them arranged by sku's in the correct order but when you look at them on the web they are in a random order?

Hello Abby,

Depending on how you have categorised your products generally the categories are shown as links. To display all products on opening you need to remove the categories or have specific pages per category of product.

The products will be displayed in the order that you have entered them into your database. To change the display order you need to change the database. This is possible and requires that either you re-enter them or more easily download them into a spreadsheet and reorder them by sku then upload them again. This requires experience with spreadsheet operation.

If you wish to go ahead with either or both of these I am happy to guide you with the specifics.

Thank you very much for your help!!

I understand what you are saying as far as the categories, but I think I am one step behind that. When I click on my sale page it has my header, and then the paypal payment method I brought in, and then a small link that you would click to get into the products. I have all the products at this time under one category. What I want is when you arrive at my sale page I want it to show as it does once you have clicked on the link, automatically?

Thank you for offering to help me import/download the good news is I don't have many products loaded as of now, so I can probably just start over and get better organized.

Hi Abby,

I can't quite visualise the situation on your sales page. May I ask for the site address and then I can see the reality?

Abby looking at your explanation more closely I think I have a solution for you. You need to force the Store browser (as it is called) to open a category. (I'm using the term category in a generic sense and not as the intuitive understanding)
To do this you need to obtain a category number and following on from this I am including copied and edited pages from the Ecwid help facilities. I think I have tailored it in a way that hopefully will set you on the right trail.

How to get ID of your product or category?

It is easy.
Open your store.
Click on your initial link.
Check the address bar of your browser where page URL is displayed. The number after "id=" text is the ID you need.

For example: in the category URL http://www.ecwid.com/demo-frontend.ht..., the category's ID is 3002.

Now to open all the products with this category ID in your case the default no category ID, Paste this line of code into an HTML widget on your page. This then should open all products of your catalogue

<div> <script type='text/javascript' src='http://app.ecwid.com/script.js?1003'></script> <script type='text/javascript'> xProductBrowser("categoriesPerRow=3","views=grid(3,3) list(10) table(20)","categoryView=grid","searchView=list","style=","defaultCategoryId=3002"); </script> </div>
3002 is the CategoryID of the example category.

Replace the 3002 with your own specific category ID

At this stage if you preview or publish and view your site you will see (should see) the products all displayed and you will see your original presentation. You need to remove the original Online Store settings and you will be left with the customised setup of the Store.
