This code MAYBE will help or it may not be what you want

<!--
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function show_confirm()
{
var r=confirm("Yes I Want To Enter");
if (r==true)
{
document.write("<a href = 'http://testsite4aandl.yolasite.com/ne... You Please Enter</a>");
}
else
{
document.write("You pressed Cancel! Good Bye");
}
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<center>
<input type="button" onclick="show_confirm()" value="You Are Welcome Click Here" />

</body>
</html>
-->

See a working example of this http://testsite4aandl.yolasite.com/

just follow and you'll see how it works

Hello LauraMay,

Whatever page is the Index page is the page that your site will open up to. We do not currently have a feature for an entry page; although if it is really important for you, you could create two sites, one site as a one page site and the entry page, and then it could link to the other site. Let us know if we can help further.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hi papa,
No, I don't think you misunderstood. Many times when people want an entry page they want it to appear differently than the rest of their site, such as a flash entry page and without the navigation and general things you would see on the other pages of the site. The navigation on a Yola site is site wide, so it is not possible to remove the menu from just one page. That was why I gave the suggestion of a separate site for an entry page.

Laura what i would suggest is this:

1. go to your index page and click the little arrow next to the save button and go to 'save page as'

2. Then name the page whatever you like and save.

3. Now you have 2 copys of your index page.

4. Go back to the original one called 'index' , make the image and the 'click to enter' text and link the text and image to whatever you called the copy of the index page.(in step 2)

5. Now click the 'edit menu' button and drag the index page 'out of the menu'

Should work. Follow the instructions slowly 1 by 1. If nothing else its a good lesson in page management.

Emmy gave an explaination of why this way won't work and that is because the stock YOLA menu bar is needed for the rest of the pages. Of cource if you remove all the page from stock YOLA bar and create your own menu bar them it will work.

It will work - your only removing the index page from the menu. The rest of the pages stay in tact. However they will appear on the 'entry page' as well - i feel its a better work around than using another site because then you run into URL problems - Its better to have just 1 set URL.
It will work but remeber its just a work around.

Hi UK Duke. I just tried to do what you suggested (I really want a welcome page on my site) but I am not permitted to change the Index page name. Any other suggestions?

You can't change the name of an index page because that is the index to the folder it lives in.

Your landing page (welcome page) would be the index and would link to something like page 1.

Follow the steps above see how you go or let us know where you get stuck.

You will definitely need to create your own menu. If this is done, then this look can be achieved.

Take a look at this site as an example - very basic!

Hi there, Is there any update on the entry screen?
I'm desperate to be able to include one for my website at www.thethreepiecebeatles.com as a splash screen but there doesn't seem to be any way of doing it! :-(
I don't want to do the 2-site workaround as I've paid for the domain, and want coherance throughout the site

Pretty please? :-)

Hello Ben

Unfortunately, the status on the entry screen remains the same. If you do not want to create another site, then you could create one in your current website. However, this will mean having to create a custom menu.

Please take a look at my site: http://littleus.yolasite.com.

Please let me know if this is something that you're after and I can give you further instructions on how to do this.

Thanks littleus - nice site by the way - I think this is the answer to my predicament! :-)
So, your index page is the 'loading' page, which then redirects to your homepage after a set time?
After which your menu is coded in an html box?
I'm guessing the code for the menu will be on the forum somewhere, I'll have a look, if not where did you get yours?
Thankyou ever so much,

Ben (UK)
:-)

Hello Ben

Yes.. you are correct. The index page is the loading page. On this particular page, I have added a redirect code. Here it is:

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2; url=http://webdesign.about.com&quot;&gt;

Replace the following:
2 - the number of secs before you want the page to redirect. I would strongly encourage you to use a higher number first to ensure that this is set up properly as it will redirect in your site builder. Then, decrease the number to what you want.

http://webdesign.about.com - replace with the URL to which you want your page to redirect.

You will need to hide all of your pages so that you do not get a menu across the top of your entry pages. Click on "Edit menu" and drag-and-drop all the pages you don't want from "In the menu" to "out the menu".

You will need to create a custom menu and place on each page (except your entry page).

You can create text links or image links.

To create image links:

1. Add the image to your page, using the image widget.
2. Click on 'Properties' on the right-hand sidebar.
3. Click on 'Choose a Link' and make your selection.
4. Click on 'Apply'

To check that your link is working, preview your page and then click on the link.

To create text links:

1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page.
2. In the text widget type the words that you want people to click on (this is your link text).
3. Highlight the link text and then click on the link button (it's the 10th button from the left in the text editing tool bar, and looks like the link in a chain).
4. A link editor dialogue box will open up and you will be given 4 options. You can link to an email address, an external URL, a page on your own site or a file in your file manager.
5. Click on and edit the option appropriate for you.

You will then have a link on your page. To check that your link is working preview your page and then click on the link.

This is a brief explanation of how to add links, we have written a tutorial that shows the process in more detail. Here is the link: Creating Links

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.
