Help pointing domain purchased on Yola to a website hosted on Godaddy

Hello,

I recently registered a domain on Yola and I need to point it to my website hosted on Godaddy.com.

I went to the advanced settings for my domain and I entered the name and the IP address for both server 1 & 2 in the "setup name server > Change name servers for esmm.ca" section. I've also contacted Godaddy.com to confirm the servers info and to point the domain to the correct file on my hosting.

I still get an error message when reaching my domain.

I sent an email Yola's tech support 5 days ago regarding this issue but they have not responded yet.

Does anyone know how i can fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dominic,

Apologies for the delay in coming back to you by email, there was a miscommunication which prevented your ticket from being answered, so thanks for following up on the forum!

Could you confirm the name servers and IP addresses that GoDaddy provided you with so I can investigate further.

Thanks!

Hi,

They gave me the following name servers :
ns77.domaincontrol.com & ns78.domaincontrol.com
and they gave me my server's IP for both (184.168.230.128)

It didn't work so I tried the command ping for both nameservers and found those IP :
216.69.185.49 & 208.109.255.49

Hi Dominic,

Thanks for coming back with this information. I can see that you have added the IP addresses 216.69.185.49 & 208.109.255.49 and your site isn't working. It can take up to 48 hours for the change to propagate across the internet, so we can wait it out a bit longer depending on when you made the change. Otherwise you can try 184.168.230.128 again and wait 48 hours to see if this will make a difference.

I would recommend contacting your host and they should be able to assist you.

The nameservers have been added using the correct steps in Yola, but it appears that the information provided to you is incorrect.

Hi,

I tried with my host's IP address and waited 48hrs without success. I also tried the correct name server's IP address, waited 48hrs, still not working.

I've contacted a few times Godaddy to confirm the correct info. They told me I need to put my host's IP for both (184.168.230.128), so I did again. Otherwise, everything seems fine on their side.

I don't know what else to do and my site needs to be up and running today.

Hi Dominic,

I am sorry to hear that you haven't had any luck. I can confirm that your nameservers have been changed, and everything is in order on our side.

My only suggestion would be to see if GoDaddy can assist you further. If you require any further assistance from us we will be happy to help!
