Help: Trouble Transfering Domain to Yola from GoDaddy

Just paid to transfer my domain name from GoDaddy to Yola. It failed. When I entered my authorization info I didn't realize that if the GoDaddy account had private registration that the process would fail. Every attempt to re-send the info fails since the transfer key Yola sent me can only be used once. Help... how do I get a new key?

Hello Ken,

I am sorry you are having this problem.

Have you removed the privacy from your domain yet? If you have, please could you let me know what your domain is and I will be able to re-initiate the transfer for you. If not, please remove your domain privacy and then could you post your domain here.

Many thanks for working with us on this.

Hello Jeremy,

Appreciate your hellp.

Yes, the privacy has been removed. I had entered the authorization code the first time with the privacy still intact. When I then tried to re-initiate the transfer with privacy removed the system would not accept the transfer key. Can you send me a new transfer key? I think that's all I now need.
Thanks,
Ken R.

Hello Ken - if you are trying to transfer a domain from GoDaddy to Yola, you would need to contact GoDaddy for the authorization code/transfer key as it is generated on their side. We wouldn't have access to be able to give it to you.

Hello Marje,

This is getting way too complicated.
When I initiated the domain transfer from GoDaddy to Yola I received this automated-do-not-reply message from "domainsby proxy". I mentioned the authorization code by did not mention anything about privacy locking. I unlocked the domain and the tranfer key was no longer valid.
If it's a do not reply message how am I to get a new key ?? Can you tell me exactly who to talk with and what I need to do to get a new key.
Thanks,
Ken R.

emailservice@domainsbyproxy.com" t respond to this message, the transfer will be cancelled automatically after one week.

If the URL above does not take you directly to the transfer confirmation page, you will have to enter your Domain Name: bvwomensgolfclub.org and the Transfer Key: kfH9FgP2RG before accepting the transfer.

PLEASE NOTE that many domains require an Auth Code to approve a transfer. The Auth Code can only be obtained from the current domain provider. Please contact them directly for this info.

Hi Ken,

I apologize - I misunderstood. By transfer key, I thought you meant authorization code which is a different matter.

I've looked up the status of your domain transfer (is it bvwomensgolfclub.org?) and it's still in the transfer process. It's at the last stage "pending registry approval". This means that you don't need to do anything right now, you just have to wait for the process to complete - it should be fine.

You will receive an email confirming the transfer. Unfortunately we can't tell you how long it takes but it's usually no more than 10 days.

Hello Marije,
OK, looks like it is getting less complicated. Thanks.
From the follow-up email from "domainsbyproxy" that told me my transfer process was not completed because the domain was locked I was left with the clear impression that I needed to unlock the domain and then complete one more step to finalize the transfer. If I didn't complete this last step within 5 days the process would become invalid. Did in fact I provide all the necessary info? Is there anything further that I need to do other than wait?
Again, thanks.

Hello Yola Support,

Well I just received the Yola email telling me that my transfer did not go through after all so I guess we're back to square one.

Looks like I need a new transfer key to start the transfer process again.

Please send me either the transfer key or a link to obtain it.

My domain name is about to expire and I wanted to transfer it to Yola but if this continues to be complicated I will have no choice but to renew with GoDaddy.

Thanks,

KenR

Hello Ken,

The reason for the failed transfer is:

The current registrar for the bvwomensgolfclub.org domain name
rejected the transfer request you submitted.
Pursuant to established Registry procedures, the transfer is declined.

Please contact the current registrar listed above for a
further explanation of the rejection.

We don't get any further information than that, so I couldn't tell you what the actual reason is. Would you be able to contact GoDaddy to find out what could possibly be the problem?
