this easy easy to do. at the bottom of your page. type next page and previous page. then, click on insert link and enter the page that you want the user to go to when they click it.

for an example go to www.questforanswers.synthasite.com/as...

Hi Roxy,

Annoyer707 is talking about adding links. Here's the steps to achieve this:

Here's how to add links to your page:
1. Drag and drop a text widget onto your page.
2. In the text widget type the words that you want people to click on (this is your link text)
3. Highlight the link text and then click on the link button (it's the
10th button from the left in the text editing tool bar, and looks like
the link in a chain)
4. A link editor dialogue box will open up and you will be given 4
options. You can link to an email address, an external URL, a page on
your own site or a file on your computer.
5. Click on the option appropriate for you.
6. Then type the URL or address of the site that you want to link TO in the appropriate box and click on OK.

You will then have a link on your page. To check that your link is working preview your page and then click on the link.

This is a brief explanation of how to add links, we have written a
tutorial that shows the process in more detail. Here is the link: Creating Links. We also have a video tutorial available if you would prefer it. Here's the link: SynthaSite Video Tutorial: Creating Links

Kershnee

Hi Roxy

You do not have to create a new website. Build all the pages on the same site with all the information you want. Then use the tutorial Kershnee sent you the link for to make your "next page" links.
1) type page numbers in a text widget
2) highlight one number with your mouse
3) click "insert link" on the text editing toolbar
4) a link editor will open up. The first option in the link editor allows you to link to a page on your site. Click on this and you will be able to browse all the pages you created and select the one you want to link to.
Do the same for all your links.

If you are struggling with this, click on the Help menu and click "contact support" and we can then help you with a working example on your site.

Cheers
Monique

Hi Monique: I'm still gaining experience, but am doing quite well with Synthasite, thanks to the easy user interface, tutorials, user comments and email help such as one finds here.

Adding successive pages is a question I had too, but it has been explained very clearly here.

Thanks so much for providing first rate tech support, and a big thanks to all on the Synthasite/Get Satisfaction team for providing such a wonderful worldwide community service (for free!)

Hi Keith. I am glad the explanation and the tutorials helped. Figuring out links can be tricky in the beginning but once you understand how it works it gets a lot easier. Thanks for the great feedback.

Hi Roxy. We have added many features this year and we will be adding many more. However, developing software involves huge sums of money and many hours of work - and when we are done you get it all for free! You are most welcome to google for a site builder that has the features you need, but since I don't know what these are you are going to have to do your own searching. If you want help with that link please click on the "Help" menu and click contact support and we will help you sort it out. That is if you are still interested in building a site with SynthaSite, of course.

If you want something like <>, the simplest way to do is:
step 1: make all the pages which you want in arranged order.
step 2: go on the first page, type <> etc in the text widget
step 3: link the respective pages to the text. Just take care while linking previous and next.
You are done..!!

Hi
I am also new to this, but I tried this and it seemed to work? If at the botom/top of the first page (in my case this would be named Products) I add a text widget, I type in 'Go to page 1, 2 , 3, 4,.....' I make only this first page visible on the menu, I can then add new pages - named page 2 (not visible on the menu) and so on depending on the number of "products I have to show"

I tested 3 pages in this way and it seemed to work: An Example for linking three or more numbered pages

1) highlight the text no. 2 on page 1 (where I typed 'go to page 1,2,3,.....')
click on the link symbol, then link to page 2

highlight the no 3 on page 1
click on the link symbol, then link to page 3

Remember not to link page 1 to page 1 or page 2 to page 2, etc.

2) now go to your page two to add the links (remember, this page can be hidden on the menu bar - otherwise your menu bar could become really cluttered -

Add the Text Widget - type in 'Go to Page 1, 2, 3, 4.......'
Highlight the no. 1
Click on the link symbol,
link to page one (in my case called Products)

Highlight the no. 3
Click on the link symbol
link to page 3

And so on and so on. I tested this and it seems to work.

While I am online may as well say hello. I am from South Africa. I have not published my site yet I am also still learning and may have to ask a question or two. I have found many answers already from just browsing and looked at some of the sites (which I have bookmarked - they just look so great)

As far as shopping carts and such go - this is what I am trying to accomplish - I sell online by registering on auction sites in South Africa (although I have joined EBay, paypal problems with South African Banks tend to be a bit of a headache) At the moment the biggest in SA is bidorbuy,co,za and a few others - bob offers a feed generator which works well too, just paste the html code and voila, all the products beautifully created in this site. I also affiliate with other auction sites and paste my store profile html which takes a viewer and potential customer to the site where I am selling my goods (and where it is easier to handle the banking, ordering and such) - with no need for a shopping cart, such headaches and too difficult for me to understand. Anyway this is a quick and easy solution to selling your products.

Please let me know if the way I described the page problem would be a solution. I also think this person does not know how to create a new page.

Hi Sandy - can you post a link to your site. There's also www.payfast.co.za available in SA (if you're looking for something similar to PayPal).

Hi Marije

Wow, thanks for the quick response - I am still learning about links - my site (I hope) www.sabretrader.synthasite.com (how do I paste this as a Link?) I do know about payfast and plan on signing up, at the moment I just make use of moneybookers or EFT.

My site has just been published, but I am far from complete - I have not even reached the stage where I can add images yet, these will all come later - at the moment I am trying to learn about the links - the ones I have created so far seem to work ok. But it is all so time consuming. I am so fascinated by the whole process of synthasite, that I am neglecting to add my products to the auctions sites I sell on - this is going to take a bite out of my little income this month. OUch! But oh well, I am having such fun - and you know what they say about all work!

Thank you for your response and I would really appreciate any further little (insider) tips you could give me.

Friendly Regards
Sandy
