Hi Greg,

SynthaSite does not have name servers as we are not the managers of your domain, we simply host your site. Your domain name registrar needs to provide you with your name servers and you then point your site to us by setting up an A record, as per the following instructions:

How to configure a domain name you already own:
1. Log in to your chosen domain registrar (eg.,
2. Go to the DNS Management page
3. Set up an A Record
4. The IP address of your record must point to: ""

Please note that it can take up to 48 hours (although usually less) for these changes to take effect and you need to contact your domain registrar if you need help in that regard. If you require specific help with the interface of your domain name registrar, please contact them for support.

We have a tutorial outlining the steps to configuring your domain, giving two popular domain name registrars as examples: Using a Domain Name not purchased through SynthaSite - There are also instructions on how to use ZoneEdit - if your domain name registrar does not provide you with domain name management. However, most domain name registrars can assist you with an A record, in which case you would not need to use a third party service like ZoneEdit -

Thank you very much for your reply. However where I bought my site do not give me the option to set up an A record. It just gives the option of choosing their name server or my own. With my other web sites hosting I have it pointing to their name server ie

Hi greg,

If your domain name registrar does not give you the option of an A Record, then you will need to make use of a service like ZoneEdit -

Please let us know if you need more help with this.
