I have bought my domain through an independant domain regitrar in the UK. Yola say that I need to create 2 A-records: one with the hostname "@" and one with the hostname "www". Both should point to Yolas IP address: 208.75.208.172. I have created the www A-record no problem but my registrar has told me I cant create the @ A record as the host in the A-record can only be numbers or letters not symbols - what can I do to get around this?

Hi Z,

Could you let us know which domain registrar it is so that we can try and find out more info - perhaps they have the steps on their website. It can be hard to find sometimes.

If they're saying it can only be numbers or letters, it sounds like they're asking you to edit name servers. If this is the only option that they offer, you can use the services of ZoneEdit. They are useful when you have registered a domain, but not been provided with suitable DNS management services enabling you to point your A record at Yola.
