Dear Yola, I started a new self hosted website for my band and properly deleted the old yolasite one. Problem is, when someone does a google search for my band name, the old yolasite still comes up in the number one spot - and now it's a plumbing site. Is there a way to block that site from being seen when people type in my band name?
old yola site:
my new site: (went to self hosting)
Search in google: Shannon Gunn and the Bullettes
and the number 1 spot is - Do You Want A New Plumbing Company
Plumbing has nothing to do with bullettesjazz! Why are they using that domain, other than to capture traffic and spam?
Thanks for any help you can give me,
Shannon Gunn

Hi Shannon,

I can understand your disappointment at this, however it looks like a legitimate website so we are unable to take any action on your behalf. I am not sure what relevance the name has to them, but they do have a Contact Us form on their website so you are welcome to reach out to them and inquire about that. If you approach them in a kind way, it's very possible they might change their .yolasite subdomain name which is free and easy to do, as I also can't see a clear connection between it and their content. You may want to suggest that their website traffic may well improve if they select a plumbing or heated flooring inspired name.

In time and with attention to your SEO, your custom domain should take over the top spot for your band name as it is job of the search engine to return the most relevant website results for each search, which we can all agree is your website.
