Help!! I'm going to try to give a festive look to the index page this year by adding some snow, but when I try to add the code which was posted on here, all that happens is the written html code appears in the box which was added. What am I doing wrong?
I am very stupid when it comes to technology so if you keep it VERY simple for me, i'd be very grateful. Hope someone out there can help!!!

Hey Alexander,

Make sure your are dragging a HTML widget onto your page.
It has a little blue planer on it.

Hope this helps.

Hello Alexander,

John is completely right! Please make sure that you are using the HTML widget to add this code to your site. If you are still struggling, please share the code and we will gladly take a peek at it to see if an error is on the actual code.

Cheers!

Also, if you post a code Alexander, make sure to wrap it in <!-- and --> Like this:

<!--

CODE HERE

-->

This is just so we can actually see the code.

Hi there, thanks for replying and for everyone's help. I tried again using the above code - I dragged the html widget onto the bottom of the index page and copied and pasted it, pressed the preview button, but this time nothing showed up...... Arghhh!! I won't be putting on a Christmas theme on the website until the start of December, so if I haven't sussed it out by then, could I send you my log in details for the site & see if you can work out where I'm going wrong. Thanks again for helping!!!
PS. Was just wondering if it's anything to do with the particular layout I use and I'm maybe not adding the widget in the appropriate place?

Hi, first, drag and drop an HTML widget, then paste this in:

<br><br>
<!--

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://honeybearplayhomes.com/resources/snowstorm.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> snowStorm.snowColor = '#99ccff'; // blue-ish snow!? </script>

-->
<br>

Don't copy <!-- or --> Just the code in between those.

You can change the color of the snow by changing the numbers and letters AFTER the # So, don't delete the #, only the 6 numbers and letters after it. Then, you can go to www.colorpicker.com and select your color and copy it and paste it in after the #.

I hope this helps!

Thanks a million Nathan, that seems to have worked!! Just one more thing though, the snow shows up on the site builder page but not when I press 'preview' - will it show up when I finally publish it? Sorry to be a nuisance!

No problem! I am so glad it worked!!! It should be showing up in the preview. I don't know why it's not. If it is showing in the site builder is should definitely be in the preview because the preview is just an iframe of a page that isn't available to the public. Could you post a screenshot of the whole preview windows? Also, have you tried waiting a minute? Maybe it is just taking the script a while to load.

Sincerely
Nathan

The computer was running really slow and that was why it wasn't showing up for about five minutes. Anyway it's sorted now and I'd like to thank you again for your help. The community forum with yola is great and an absolute godsend for people like myself who struggle with technology - but I'm learning.......slowly!!! Thanks again Nathan!
