Help with getting Goole Apps Mail on new yola site

Hello
I'm a bit of a novice here. I'm looking for help in setting up Google Apps mail. I've set up my website with Yola and have discovered that the domain is resgistered with TUCOWS. I read on the Google Apps site that I have to alter my MX records, but on TUCOWS it says "Contact your Domain Provider for issues regarding your domain name such as obtaining a username and password for making DNS changes, renewing your domain and obtaining its Authorization Code."
How can I get the username and password to do this - is it from yola?

Hi Pablo,

Have a look at this Yola specific tutorial Setting up your email with GApps. This works very well. if you have any issues please let us know here.

Thanks for this. I've had a look at the tutorial but am a bit stuck as I have already registered with Google Apps and obtained the code to verify my website. I got as far as setting up 5 or 6 e-mail addresses, and they successfully send e-mails but don't receive them.

The problem is that I can't now find a way to get the verification code again to follow the process in the tutorial (ie via the Yola dashboard).

Really stick as I need the e-mail set up asap to begin business trading.

Any further help appreciated!

Try and go into your GApps account. Then into your Mail setup and see if you can still pick up the code? If that doesn't work let me know?

Can you either display your email here or if you want to keep it private send it to me on gop@designscent. com and I'll see if I get a bounce message

OK. Just checked out the MX records for williamblunt.co.uk. Nothing in the records. This then has to be set up unless this was set up very recently ie within the last 60 minutes?

OK.

I would start from scratch if possible.

Follow the Yola tut and tell me where you cannot go any further. I mean literally step one

Thanks. Does this mean deleting my existing G Apps account and starting over? I can do this, so long as I can recreate it - ios that possible?

I wouldn't delete the GApps account but I would delete the Mail account if possible. Soory for the delay. Shampooing puppies in between :)

Hmm - I can't figure a way to do this without deleting the entire account.
G Apps is verified against the website (I had to copy some code from G Apps into a widget, from memory) and I can't see anywhere where it will throw up another code to set up the e-mail.
What kind of puppies are you shampooing? :-)

Very well bred puppies. Black sire, tan sire white sire. All excellent soi dogs of impeccable diversified genes. Big, small and medium sized puppies in the litter. About 5 months or so old now. They soon will be the end of their genetic line though :)

You're right about the code though. Hopefully we can find this again.

Do you remember where you pasted the code?

sign in to your Google Apps administrator control panel and click Confirm that you own your domain or Activate Google Apps at the top of your Dashboard. (Your control panel is available at https://www.google.com/a/your_domain.... you must replace your_domain.com with your actual domain name.) Then follow the instructions that appear.

Wonder if this helps?

You're being very patient here! I can't recall where the code went (I've had a good look and can't find it). Similarly, I've looked at the dashboard every which way and there's nothing allow me to say I own the domain or to activate G apps. I think I must have already passed this stage and can't get back to it.

Login to your Gapps account as the admin. then go to service settings on your Control Panel. Select Mail and then scroll down to delete mail.

I would then logout again and reset up your email.

Am not able to reset it. When I log on again, it's back there.

I am sure this is all because I have already verified the site with G Apps.

You don't think just deleting G Apps altogether is the best place to start? (So long as I can sign up my site again).

I keep coming back to this screen. Is there any way Yola can change the MX records as indicated?

You can do that. Or if you like I can do this for you. I would need your login details if you like. You can then change your login after I have made the changes to your MX records. Your call. If you want me to send the login details by email.

If you want to do this yourslef. You need to go into the Domains. Select your domain Advanced settings and Change your DNS Settings.

There you may see your existing MX records. You can let me know if and what's there? Screen shot is perfect

Looks good. I think that there is a test facility within GApps mail setup to let you know if it's OK? Guessing here?
