I would like some help with the navigation bar. I have a 3-column page.
Could I delete the navigation bar the way it currently is (horizontally)
and create a vertical navigation bar into column 2 on my homepage?
If so, how could do this?

I provided an example in column 2 to explain what I mean.

thanks much

Hello Comfort

At this time the location of the navigation is set by the style so cannot be moved. Yola does have a variety of templates available with vertical or horizontal navigation schemes. You might be interested in the Yola Style Guide which will give you specific details about each style.

There is always the option of creating your own navigation scheme using text or image links. You would need to pull all of the pages out of your navigation and then create your own links to the pages of your site, here are some instructions if this is something you would like to do:

To remove pages from your navigation:

1. Click on "Edit Navigation".
2. Drag your pages from "Pages in the Navigation" to "Pages out of the Navigation".

Here's how to add text links to your page:

1. Drag and drop a Text Widget onto your page.
2. In the Text Widget, type the words that you want people to click on (this is your link text).
3. Highlight the link text and then click on the link button (it's the 10th button from the left in the text editing tool bar, and looks like the link in a chain).
4. The Link Editor will open up and you will be given 4 options. You can link to an email address, an external URL, a page on your own site or a file in your File Manager.
5. Click on and edit the option appropriate for you.

You will then have a link on your page. To check that your link is working preview your page and then click on the link.

Here's how to add image links to your page:

1. Add the image to your page, using the Picture Widget.
2. Click on the "Properties" tab in the Sidebar, on the right of your screen.
3. Click on "Choose a Link" and make your selection.
4. Click on "Apply".

To check that your link is working, preview your page and then click on the link.

This is a brief explanation of how to add links, we have written a tutorial that shows the process in more detail. Here is the link: Creating Links.

I hope you will be able to find or create a navigation for your site that you are happy with.

it's done wonders for letting me create my own menus

instead of the complexity of dynamic drive (believe me, a lot of people will tell you about dynamic drive)... my personal opinion, don't use them! css menu maker is a very useful menu generator... however, applying it to yola is sort of a trick, Diane helped me figure my first one out on Yola. If I wasn't so tired I would explain it, maybe Diane can help... but before asking for help applying it, go create it first... then we can help applying it.

The menu on the following site is NOT done with css menu maker so don't use that as an example
