I would love some feedback on how I can make this site really rock and yet be simple at the same time. My best friend has a site (http://www.sirensongpublishing.com/) that he had someone create for him. He would like me to maintain the site for him but what I really think he wants is for me to redesign it. So, having a Yola Silver account, it's no secret that I love working with Yola.

This is basically what my friend sent me:

I want the essential stuff you see here, but would like the option to add some new things like excerpts from the stories and the magazine to entice readers. Plus, I have to change the info about ordering and would want to add a PayPal section to the ordering page.

I have problems designing sites from an aesthetic and functional point of view. My own site (www.mcran.com) is still a work in progress.

I really appreciate this (as always :))

Take care,

Randy

Hi Randy,

I think the best approach is to start creating the site first - using the previous site to guide you or draw from other sites that you like. You may want to check out our Featured Sites for some inspiration.

Once you have formulated the basis of your friend's site, then we can offer constructive criticism. I don't think you'll have much problem though in designing your friend's site! You have already done a great job on your own :)

We do have a tutorial on adding an Online Store with PayPal, which you may find helpful.

Good luck with designing it! I'm sure your friend will be quite pleased with the results!
