If I create an account to google apps, and then "authenticate it" using the CNAME procedure, will it delete my primary yola mail account, which I would like to keep?

Hello Stacy,
I'm not sure how Yola Mail works, but authenticating it with CNAME should not cause any confilcts. One issue you may have is conflicting MX records, again I don't know how Yola Mail works so I don't know wether you had to set up MX records, I think it would be best to have an employee answer that but in the meantime, authentication should not delete the Yola Mail account
Thanks

Hello Stacy,

Callum is right, due to conflicting MX records you cannot have both Yola Mail and a Google Mail account on your domain.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

Okay, this makes sense. I can't even verify I am the owner of the site without losing the yola mail address? Or would I need to flip both over to google mail?

Or, can I verify, and then put them mx records back to how they were? I guess it would have to attach itself to the domain so that wouldn't work.

Hi Stacy,
It's not possible to have both Yola Email and Google Apps email as the settings overwrite each other. Is there a reason you would like to set email up with Google Apps even though you already have domain email with Yola Mail? Possibly we are not understanding what it is you are wanting to do.

Thanks,
Emmy

Thanks for all your responses;

Here is what I am trying to do - we have a yola mailbox, and an alias underneath it. I cannot for the life of me get the mail forwarding to work under the filters option just for the alias - it just deletes what I send and does not forward it. I have to have the main mailbox forwarded through the general options. This is difficult as I do not want to purchase a 2nd mailbox, and I do not want to share the mailbox either.

So, I am trying to keep the original mailbox with yola, and have the alias made into a google account, however I don't mind flipping both over to google if I need to.

This is kind of unrelated, but how can I get a yola mail account, what does it look like, how many users can I have using it, and what company hosts it?
gmail, yola, yahoo, etc
I would apreciate a screenshot of the inbox of a demo account so I can decide which is better for myself, google apps or yola mail

Hi there Will,

For only $9.96 a year, you will be able to easily setup your email addresses using Yola Mail. You will be able to view you emails online by logging into a web interface and you can configure email clients (eg. Outlook Express, Thunderbird etc) to download and receive email on your computer. More information available on this link: Setting up your email with Yola Mail .

I hope you can find your answers on this link.

I think I'll pay for the domain and use google apps, just because I'm going to pay the however much it is fairly soon anyway, I prefer gmail, and I'll be able to have 50 addresses for free, and I might uypgrade to the next thing up if I exceed that, but anyway, I'll use google apps
