Hi Denise

How did you make your buttons? If you did it through www.cooltext.com - make sure you download both images. Then, copy the html code they give you. Paste the HTML code into your HTML widget and make sure the image path includes your domain name and folder(s).

To make it a clickable link, you need to add an a href tag in front of the image tag. Your a href tag would look something like this: <!--a href="YOUR LINK URL.COM">--> (Don't include the <!--and-->)

We'll stick by you until you get this done! Let us know what you've done so far.

Ok, here I am again:) Morning to all:) I saved my button into a file in file manager(my yola site files)and called it Buttons. I saw that somewhere. I have other things I have to figure out though. First, I didn't use cooltext(that looks hard to me but I will go take another look). Somehow though, the site I did use has disappeared and I need to find it, lol! Ok, I need another cuppa and I will check back in if I can't make any headway, have a great day everyone! Denise

Actually, CoolText.com Is One Of The Easyest Tools You Can Use!
It's Quite Simple Actually, Just Do These Instructions:

1. Go To CoolText.com And Click On "Buttons" On The Top Menu.

2. Then, You Will See A Giant Blue Button, And Below It, A Text Field Named "Logo Text" And "Cool Text" Is By Default Inputed To Your Button. You Can Change The Text Of Your Button To Something Like "Contact" Or "Home".

3.Below, There Will Be A Small Box With A Default Font Name; "Hot Pizza", Click On That And A List Of Fonts Will Pop Up, Click On The Font Category You Want For Your Button, Then The Font Preview Images Will Pop Up. Click On The Image Preview To Use That Font For Your Button.

4.Choose Your Font Size. The Default, 30, Is Just About Right For A Menu Button, So No Need To Change That Unless You Want To.

5. Choose Your Text Color. Click On The Color Bar For A Box To Pop Up And Choose A Color You Want For Your Text On The Button.(In Your Case, The Text Color Of Your Button, Is "EBEEB7")

6.Choose Your Button's Text Shadowing. It Can Be: None,Soft,Or Crisp.

7. Change Your Coordinates. X,Y Coordinates Are Respectively The Horizontal And Vertical Addresses Of Any Pixel Or Addressable Point On A Computer screen. The X Coordinate Is A Given Number Of Pixels Along The Horizontal Axis Of A Display Starting From The Pixel (Pixel 0) On The Extreme Left Of The Screen. The X Coordinate Is A Given Number Of Pixels Along The Vertical Axis Of A Display Starting From The Pixel (Pixel 0) At The Top Of The Screen. (In Simpler Terms; X = Horizontal Offset Y = Vertical Offset.)
You Don't Really Need To Use X,Y Coordinates, Unless You're A More Advanced Web Designer And Know How To Use Them. In Your Situation, I Recommend You Do Not Touch The X, Y Coordinates. Default Is Fine.

8. Here Comes The Fun Part! Designing Your Buttons Features And Shapes. Under "Shape Options", There Will Be A Box Named "Shape". Choose Your Buttons Shape. It Can Be; Rounded, Rectangle, Pill, Eclipse, Or Circle. (In Your Case, The Button You Provided Is A Rectangle.)

9.Now You Can Edit The Effect Of Your Button. (In Your Case, The Button Effect You Provided Is 3D Sharp.)

10. Now You Can Change The Color Of The Button. Click On The Color Box Like When You Were Changing The Text Color. (Also, The Button You Provided, That You Liked, You Can Use That Color. To Use The Color, Click On The "hex" Textfield And Enter "7A7D48".)

11.Now You Can Change Your Buttons Shadowing. Like You Did In The Text Shadowing. Choose From: None,Drop, Glow, Or Mirror.

12.Now Choose The Width And Height Of Your Button. If You Don't Know Much About How Much Space You Want To Use. Default Is Fine Thought.

13.The Best Part Of Making This Button Is The Mouse Over Effect! To See How They Are Used, Put Your Mouse Cursor Over The Button Under The "Mouse Over" Box, And Select The Desired Effect.

14.Now You Choose The Background Color Of Your Page So The Button Can Blend In. If You Website Page Background Is Black, Select Black In This Box.

15. Finally!! You Simply Click "Render Button" And A Page Will Now Load With Your Generated Button!

Simply Right Click On The Button And Click "Save As" And Save It To Your Hard Drive. Now Save It On Your Yola File Manager, And On Your Webpage, Enter This Html Script:

Edit The Links So Everything Works correctly.
In The www.Yourwebsite.yola.com , Replace It With Your Website URL.
Also, In The img src Replace www.yourwebsite.yola.com/resources/bu... With Your Website.
Remember Though, After Your Website URL, Enter /resources/ then the name of the image,
And Dont Forget The Quotation Marks Before And After Typing A Link Such As;

If You Choose Not To Host Your Image On The Yola File Manager, Use Tinypic.com ! Its Easy To Use, Fast And Free!

I Really Hope I Helped You!

Nathan, Nathan, Nathan...

A step by step tutorial writer who brings a smile to my face... I passed along the Cooltext website last year but did not ever get around to writing a generator tutorial and now I don't have to. ;) Great job...

You have no idea how pleased I am to have seen such a detail oriented and helpful addition to the YOLA forums. I am a take 2 hours to write a detailed tutorial on how to help the user do something in 10 minutes man myself. I figure that the more knowledge one can pass along the better for the collective community of the YOLA forums. I hope that you stick around here for quite some time. I know that your most valuable assistance to other fellow site builders will be greatly appreciated.

Simply put, Kudos to you...

Happy site building
Ed
Wheres that picnic basket???

P.S. I realizethat the website you have shown has not been made with YOLA but I couldn't help but pass along that your nav menu width variables are incorrectly set. It presently is set to 2000px wide and that makes for a very wide page. A variable of 1000 would suffice I think. ;)

Are you building a new site perhaps with YOLA? Could you share with us your progress? I am sure that we would enjoy seeing it

Well, Do You Want Someone To Just Do It For You? It Seems Like You're Stressing Over 0.2% Of Creating A Website. There Is Much Much Much More To Learn, And In The Field I'm In, I Have Learned To Stay Calm And Just Look Around At Other Websites To Get A Idea And A Feel For Your Site. Once You Find That Idea, You Open Up A HTML Editor, Or My Personal Favorite, Notepad, And Just Create Create Create. Then Check To See If You Like It And If It Really Fits In With The Whole Site. If Not, Just Do Everything Again, But Not The Same Day Or Hour. It's Great To Take A Break And Go Relax, Or Take A "Drink" And Chill. I Always Get My Ideas When I'm Taking A Refreshing Cold Shower.

Maybe You Should Consider Someone More Advanced In The Field To Help You Or Do It for You. Just A Suggestion.

To Make Your Button Into A Link Into A Menu Button, Just Open Yola And Type In

< img src="http://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss..." >

But Delete All The Spaces Between < And > Do Not Delete The Space Between IMG And SRC
