Hey yola, need some new themes?

I've been kinda bored lately, so I decided to start a small website with pure css and html themes/templates. I've currently only made 1, and I was wondering if you guys at yola might be interested in incorporating these themes into your theme gallery. All these themes will be created fully by me, including the images, and will be free of charge. A example of the only one I have so far is here:http://freecssthemes.yolasite.com/res...#

Sincerely,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Nice job on this! In the past, we had a contest where you were able to submit your designs. From this contest, we hand-picked several fantastic looking styles and have been QA'ing them. As a result, we have just recently released 10 new styles!

I don't know if we'll run contests again but if we do, I definitely think you should take a gander at it! :)

Hi Nathan,

There are some very clever people out there! As far as I understand, they can code all HTML and such from a layered PSD.

Oh and with regards to the style designers site, I think it's still active but it has changed slightly. You can no longer submit designs directly. Instead, as Sanja mentioned, Yola hosts contests via 99Designs.com and get new styles that way.

I'm not sure if it is still that way, hopefully Sanja can confirm.

Thanks to both of you! :)

@Brandon: So all the style designer does is makes the layered PSD and then someone gets that PSD file and turns it into HTML & CSS? Wow, that's cool!

Yup! It's pretty amazing. I know that if you have Dreamweaver and Photoshop you can do it yourself. Definitely something I'd like to learn!

I have Dreamweaver and Photoshop, so I'm probably going to try that someday. I'm sure there's a tutorial somewhere online that explains how to do that.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your interest in this!

Please note that we are not currently accepting submissions for new styles as we have a large number that we are still registering from the last contest! If we should open the contest again, we'll be sure to let you know through our various social media platforms.

Nathan, you were asking about how we use PSD files? We would take the PSD file and code the style to fit our style architecture! It is pretty cool, eh?!

This is not a great theme. I have been looking for something amazing for the Wollongong Recording Studio website. I want something that is conversion optimised.

I don't want to, but I may have to move to self hosted WordPress. The setup will be a little harder but it may be a wise decision in the long rum.

Hi there Angus, Your site looks great, like the red and black. Don't know if you have tried this out, however, I also use Dreamweaver and PShop (you can download latest versions from Adobe free to use for 60' days I think) and is really easy to design sites now in Dreamweaver. CSS and everyting is so much better in the newer 5.5 and 6 of DWeaver. Saves so so much time. Also you can design responsive sites now (ie for mobile tablet) and can download grid systems, which make life a whole lot easier.
Yola is great as can use CSS etc and undertake here, however, if you did wish to use something else, then thought this may be of interest (but then again maybe not as you mention WordPress).
Good luck. rgds
