Hi, I completed an eLearning resource using articulate presenter, I now want to publish this site to the web, using my domain name in the Yola server, http://markmaguire.yolasite.com/ The articulate site asks me before I can publish:the folllowing: Using the Articulate FTP Feature. Here's how to use the FTP feature in your Articulate software to upload content to a server: When you see the Publish Successful window, click the FTP option. On the FTP Published Content window, enter your FTP information. You'll need to consult your server administrator or your hosting company for the following information. Server: It should look something like ftp.myserver.com Port: The default port is 21, but you may change this if your server administrator requires a different port. Username: Supplied by your server administrator. Password: Supplied by your server administrator. Directory: Enter the directory (or path) where you'd like to store your published content on the server. For example: articulate/content I have no idea where to get the FTP information, what the server is? the port? Username? Password? Directory? I would be very grateful for some help on this. Kind Regards Mark Maguire

Hi Mark,

We do not support FTP. Websites must be built using the Yola Sitebuilder in order to be hosted with us.

Hello Mark,

Unfortunately Yola built sites do not have any facility to accept files directly via FTP protocol. We users do not have any access to the file servers used by Yola

If you have produced a site using the articulate presenter then there are possibly a couple of ways of showing it in your Yola built site? You would need to specifically research this further. Yola do not directly support articulate presenter so it needs to be some work around if possible and that is not guaranteed.

You could use an iframe to bring the data into a frame on your Yola built site or possibly capture the completed data copy it and then upload it to your File Manager if the file type is compatible with the Yola File Manager. If you are using a free subscription then you have marked limitations. If you are using a paid subscription then the options are a little broader.

If you could show us your final data or display reference then maybe we can examine this and see what may work.

I have just looked at "articulate presenter" and the good news is that you will be able to publish the presentation in your Yola built website as the facility produces the files in a number of formats and codes, including HTML5. HTML5 is suitable for the yola sitebuilder.

I don't use/subscribe to "articulate presenter" so I don't know specifically how they allow for this. You are welcome to bounce the information of me if you feel that this may help.

OK thanks for the link to the project.

What we now need to work on is the process of getting the file(s) upto the File Manager.

In the AP FAQ's or instructions there should be a help-file on locating and capturing the HTML5 files for subsequent upload to a website. If you can locate that FAQ and give me the link or copy & paste the instructions I'm happy to work with you to get this working as I'm confident that we should be able to.

Hi Mark,

If you can make responses at the bottom of the page rather than in the middle of the dialogue it helps me to keep it all in synch.

The HTML5 file type on Yola isn't an issue. Yola will process the file type correctly. The issue is getting the file(s) up to the File Manager. To do this you need to capture the files within "articulate presenter" first of all. There should be instructions within the "Articulate presenter" instructions.

We can work on the Yola processing subsequently I think.

No it won't. An iframe is a solution if the project is published on another web-site but yours isn't.
