Hi there i am designing a website for a friend http://www.equinox-online.co.uk/

the image on the left (the purple one) has the white background.

Is there a simple way i can remove the white and have the blue background with clouds coming through?

Thanks in advance for your help !

Hello Justin

It's not too simple, but you can use the free online picture editor Pixlr.com to achieve this – however, I have tested it, and there will still be a few white spots between the letters and in the picture. If you want to give it a try, here are the steps:
  1. Go to http://pixlr.com/editor/.

  2. Upload the picture to Pixlr Editor.

  3. In the left side bar, click on the Wand tool and click on the white background of the picture with it. Everything white will be selected.

  4. On the right you see a box named "Layers". Click on the lock icon until you see a checked check box. Keep it checked.

  5. Go to "Edit" in the menu bar and click on "Clear". Now you've cleared the background and you will see a chess pattern as background on your picture. This means that this part is transparent.

  6. Save this picture to your computer and make sure you choose the file extension .png for transparent images.

  7. Upload the image to your Yola account and add it to the website. The white spots may not bother because your website background is clouds.

If you're not happy with the result, let me know, then there may be another solution.

Hello Justin

Why don't you share with all users on this forum how you sorted this out? That would be very kind of you. Thanks.
