When I try to upload high res jpegs, it comes out choppy. What am I doing wrong? The jpegs are not larger than the max.

Hi yelad93,

Could you post a link to the particular page of your site where this is happening so that we can take a look?

How do I do this? I have not published the site yet...oh and the jpegs are on the banner images. I went online and found a high res wallpaper jpeg to insert as my own banner image.

Hello yelad93

When you say your image is "choppy" - do you mean that it loading up choppy?

Web friendly images should between 20 and 100KB each, depending on how many you have on a page. You can see the file size displayed below the preview of the image in your File Manager.

Large images can cause delays in opening, saving, previewing, publishing and viewing your site. This will be a source of frustration to you, and your site visitors.

To resolve this issue the best option is to optimize your images. If your images are added to your page using the Picture Widget, all you need to do is turn the optimizer "on". This will allow for your images to be optimized on your page. For more info please see Image Optimization.

If your images are added to your page using the Text Widget then they will not be optimized. Optimization of images can only be done using the Picture Widget. One option is to re-add your images to your page using the Picture Widget and turn the optimizer "on".

Please let me know if you have any further trouble with this.

The image I'm trying to upload is a banner image. When I upload the image it appears choppy in the picture widget before I add it to the page.
