I am wondering if I can upload a prebuilt site to the yola site for hosting
a friend of mine gave me some software to use for building a website with it being built and saved on my own comp
the site that I built looks a fair bit better due to the flexibility of the layout (the preset boxes are not there so I can position the items exactly where I want it with out the columns format)
I have that site built and ready for upload but need a host to carry it

With Yola launching Site Level CSS I have attempted this with varying levels of success, you can have a look at the temp site I have tried to do this: My Template Test.

The site was built in Dreamweaver and looks great through the index.html file, but even though we have site level CSS, lingering css and html still gets in the way so the site does not display 100% properly and I can't seem to fix the header or footers.

As far as uploading your pre-built site; Yola does not currently have the ability to actually act as a "web-host" were you upload your site. However, if you don't mind re-building the site on Yola you can get a good looking site, easily and quickly without having to pay large hosting fees p/y.

However, if you wish to host your site yourself I would suggest Eleven2, I have just started using them to host a more advanced site of mine and they have been really good so far, not to mention very well priced. However, it is quite a bit more complicated than Yola and of course does not have a "site builder"

edit: You would need a Yola Silver Account to try working your current site into a Yola site.

and that is the problem I don't have the capitol to buy a silver package and I have already built a site here on yola
the yola site needs to remove the formatting system that it currently uses
I was a vis com major in high school and dont do well with the columns for an advertisement which is what the home page of any site is pure glitz and glamor advertisement only Iment to get their attention and to get them to look around more
many of the widgets dont fill the box they are assigned to and there for it makes my site look blockish and clumsy compared to what I was able to make with the software that I have in the comp
I think there is a way for me to do it but it will take up several time n=more hours to do than what I was hopeing for
lol
I guess I will have to live with what i have for now untill I make some sales to pay for the web hosting
http://tarotcardreadingsbyrobert.com/ this is a site that my buddy asked me to build for him and I use exactly the same widgets and text style as this site http://tarotsbybob.yolasite.com/ which as you can tell was built here on yola,
all widget are free on both sites. take a really good look at the diffs then tell me which one you would go to for the reading

tarotsbyboby, hi there. Looked at both via your links above . the first one is easier to look at etc. By your posting you must mean the sizing of your Yola page and how large it all is. Is this right? If so, then you can get it identical to the first site, with no problem with the free templates. You don't have to have Silver package So not quite understanding what you are saying, as it is possible. By the way, when I copied and pasted the url from your links on the page the above took me to, and then pasted into other browsers to view your pages, site comes up with a black page for tarot??

the black page is not the site that you should have gotten
that host has been a royal pain in the A$$ for a week now
as you said yes I can make the yola site work but to get what I want exactly no only really close I have a much better HTML editor installed on y comp
and a few other things that you dont really see unless you are told to look for it

but at least yola is not having host server pointing problems
problems for a week at a time

Do believe u can get Yola exactly the same so it will look same. And understand the domain pointing, as had that also with people I had for a domain, did not matter what I did, they just would not do what they should have. Took me about 2 weeks. I had to go and search on web and then tell them it was still with them and provide details on that ... they just would not believe. Eventually I found someone 'bright'! Good luck.
